FYI: For those interested in the USB Buxx card the "Wiki" about the USB Buxx has misleading information. I just have to say this because it's the truth. There are many here who know this and don't want this information made public on the forum. This card is available and taking applications. If you want help, feel free to PM me. I'm the kind gal that likes to share anything I know unlike others.

Thanks milesmomma. The card has been "discontinued" in that they removed application links from their webpage. Yet as you mentioned, there are FT members active on this thread that can help someone get setup via pm, such as yourself and f0xx.

I believe there is also a valid url a few pages back as well. At least as of last night 12 AM EDT.

Hell. I even gave a user with very few posts the link and returned some valuable information. ^

I like this community and I like the users here. I never asked for tips or anything in return. All I asked was to keep it on the down low. I can't control anyone, so if they did. I guess I learned who not to trust, but if they kept to it. I respect them highly.

Buxx is a small play. A nice side hobby to save a trip to wm each month. :) Plus, there is no category or portal bonus, so it's basically for meeting minimum spend.

1X on buxx IS small play.
But then again, it all comes down to the individual.

Domat, do you think that every ms opportunity that is out there is being shared on ft? Of course not and it's not because foxx or others on ft are selfish and want to hide things from others. It is because when good deals get shared on a more easily accessible platform like a blog (I'm sure blogs are viewed much more than individual threads of ft) then tend to die quickly.

In this case it's sad because those could result in bringing us bank to the attention that the link was still accessible as well as the cards ability to be used as a money churning tool.

Foxx did nothing wrong in fact if say he went above and beyond as a good ft member!

A lot of information is shared privately. Look at my filled inbox :td:
I may be an ... when it comes to people not reading, but 99% of the people that PM'd me found me because they READ this thread and found that I knew of the backdoor.

I love helping people, but I'm not going to hand hold your way through the steps. ^ It's the reason why I don't have a blog. ;)

Making fun of the person with the poster who shared the link as they did is wrong and ridiculous as well.

Everything could be sad. Maybe the 150 people who learnt of it from Foxx would be enough to have brought it down. Or maybe not. We don't know.

I would guess very few blogs have the viewership of a good ft thread like this. Especially considering many blogs point back to the thread.

I don't find myself selfish.
Seeing as I shared it privately and even gave people tips on how to best go about using it.

Good call, so I used an ink card to load my nw buxx and now when I try to load with a different card it fails, I've tried 3 different cards matched billing addresses made sure there is room on the rolling 30 days and still it fails with every card but the original funding card. Any ideas to what I can do ?

Are you keeping track of the rolling 30 days?

Believe it or not, I have a life outside of miles and points (a big one with my children, family & friends) and don't keep up on every deal and every prepaid product available to man. I was given the information from a reader and doing my homework for myself. Being the kind of person I am, I wanted to share that information to help others as is always my intention. Having not read the thread cover to cover, I wasn't aware of all the details of this product. I find it so sad that some of you are such selfish people. Your comments are the main reason I rarely ever comment in FT forums. I read all the time but rarely comment because of the bashing that goes on. I bet none of you would ever walk up to me in person and say the things you do online. It's just plain sad. My site might not help you but it has helped many average people travel when they never imaged it was possible for them. I help people everyday and share anything I know. I will continue to do so and I do use discretion more than other bloggers. I don't post half of the stuff I know about and use myself. Anyway, just think about how someone shared with you and how you learn what you know and maybe think about giving back. Remember we are all just "real" people typing behind these keyboards.

The pot calling the kettle black.

Glad I could help! Stop being so selfish FT members! Stop abusing systems and you won't get shut down. And stop whining when every deal ends. There is always another deal around the corner. Get creative and use your mind. There is endless ways to manufacture miles & points!

Check your last post.
Sounds a little hypocritical huh?
Like I said. Pot calling the kettle black.

You're not one to judge the kindness of others.

This thread is one of the most enduring threads on FT - over 11 years old! I've the thread from 2006 on. There have been several discontinued products, substantial changes, and new products offered over the years. Let's get back on track discussing buxx.

I'm looking into getting a TD buxx card. I don't live in one of the "select states", yet my parents do. So, I'm hoping it's okay to use that address.

Only issue you'll have is having to change your billing/statement address to said address.

I've explained it before in the thread. Some of the downsides of doing so.
I'm doing it. Too much of a PITA for some.

I think I may try that strategy. I'll go back and read your previous posts on the matter. Thanks.

foxx, I do keep track of rolling 30 days. My spreadsheet is awesome :) I have no clue why it won't go through. Names on card are the same, addresses are the same... The only thing I can think of is that I first started with a business card. I don't really like the NW card anyway and I will probably discontinue the use of it because I don't like having the fairly low returns and extreme limits of $1,000 per card per month. Just not worth the effort.

whitey4545 May 1, 2014 9:28 am

As far as Foxx's claim on Privately shared information, I think that the best help you can get is through private Messages. When I first started I read and read, but instead of just asking general questions on a thread I would find someone that I could tell was actively using the technique and sent a PM. Guess what, every time I asked I was responded to with very in depth detail that really helped my situation. Now that I have good experience and I comfortable with my MS I like the idea of pass it forward mentality. I try to give as much good advise as I can. I always respond to every PM I get. I share as much good detail as I can. That being said I did not find the Buxx backdoor and because of that I did not feel it was my place to share, but I did guide people in the right direction to finding it.

There is nothing wrong with discretion in this game. It keeps the game alive. Especially when we are talking about a product that is clearly discontinued. Would I like the url removed from the thread, yes. Do I think that the product should be exclusive to only those that already have it, no. I just think that discretion is the name of the game sometimes.

Commerce Bank mySpending card is a no go.
Even called CS to see if they can load on their end. Nada.
Even if their card holder agreement says they can... Nope.

:td:
Had my hopes up.
Going to close the account.

Has anyone tried buying Vanilla Reloads with a Buxx Card? I tried to buy VR with a CC at Duane Reade about 6 months ago, but the manager told me no credit, only debit or cash. Went back there today but they had no VR's. Going to try at a different Duane Reade, maybe it'll accept my TD Buxx card. Expensive way to cash out though.

Fee wise, that's the worst idea...

Why would you ever do that? Just get a MO using Buxx card or load with Bluebird, etc, etc, etc.

jmw May 1, 2014 12:01 pm

I figured out why my NW Buxx card did not work. I was able to make a regular purchase with no PIN so I knew it had something to do with the ability to cash out.

I thought I had enabled cash access online when the card was ordered. I enabled cash access online and changed the PIN again. Now it works for far more interesting stuff than buying lunch. I could have sworn there was an option to enable cash out while ordering the card. Oh well.
