Prepaid debit is a different product category than a gift card with PIN. Also, if you weren't using a Buxx card, why are you posting in this thread? This is just going to add confusion.

Sorry, got so excited to see someone else frequenting the same stores I do that I forgot what the subject of the thread was.

Indeed. I was about to say, back when I lived in NYC and at the super, super, super anal and paranoid WMs there, Buxx cards were absolutely fine. I had several cashiers show the cards to supervisors/managers and all of them glanced at it and confirmed those were fine, since they don't look anything like gift cards.

If TD Bank only knew where their ads were showing up...

I keep getting the below error message when trying to load my TD Go card with my Chase credit cards.

Is it because I have set the cash advance limit to zero? Thanks

uTalk Jun 26, 2014 11:27 pm

yes it it, because ink bold also has no cash advance limit. Therefore can not go through either

Has anyone been able to load their TD card with a Citi AA exec in the past week or so? I'm getting the same error message everyone else here is referencing whenever I try.

Finally went through this morning.

VISA Buxx

Yep I'm having trouble with Exec, but I have a fairly low credit limit so my cash arcade is low, can only handle one 1k charge.

In my case she didn't 'know' - she was just trying to be 'helpful' in explaining why the swipe was denied. She never looked at the card. She advised me that the 'system' knew what cards were not allowed and that was the reason for the reject.

In any case, I finally returned to Alcosta yesterday (as noted, a neighborhood WM, quite small). They have many open 'self checkout' lanes, but only 2 live cashiers. I picked one. Said I want to load Serve, loaded $1K, then wanted to load BB, $1K, no referral to the Money Center, no questions, no problems.

In hindsight, I think my referral to the money center earlier in the week was likely a new employee who didn't know how to do it and was asking her boss to take care of it on her behalf. Based on yesterday's experience, it is clearly not (yet) store policy (to require Amex product loads from the MC and to not allow pre-paid debit to load Amex products).

Had no problem with my Citi Exec in the past but now getting the same error message trying to load two different TD Go cards. Checked cash advance limit etc., though shouldn't matter. Wonder if Citi has somehow managed to block these loads?

Glad to see everything is still a go. I will see how my Walmart goes next month when my clock resets.

My Citi Exec was giving me an error too even though I don't have anymore pending charges - they all posted as soon as my statement closed. My purchases were made on June 14th & June 19th.

Called Citi today and they said my I am $100 shy of my cash advance limit. I know it's been mentioned that it takes 3 weeks for these to clear and some have even reported being able to load w/their CA set to 0.

Do you guys just load every 3 weeks? Is there a better way to clear up cash-advance limit?

Thanks,

CatJo Jun 27, 2014 12:50 pm

Just checked with Citi and my Exec card has a $1,500 CA limit which cannot be raised - used up $1000 on my previous TD Go load so I guess that explains why a subsequent load didn't go through. That charge has disappeared from my pending authorizations but still apparently only have $500 CA limit left - I don't know how long it takes for the CA to free up, as the TD loads can stay on as pending for weeks.
