in the same boat (and city!) as you CatJo.. hopefully there is a way to clear up these cash advances. Besides the obvious annoyance it's a tad worrying that it stays as a cash advance for so long.
Imagine if something within the Citi setup changes and it's treated as a real cash advance? Those fee's are quite obnoxious.. |
I called Citi and set my Exec CA to 0; still no go to load the TD Go. Will try again in a few days...

Wouldn't you need it to be >>0 instead of =0?

That's what I thought, but many others have successfully set their CA to 0 and had no issues loading the TD Go.

I think we're getting conflicting reports about whether the load initially posts as CA or not on Citi Execs. Are you sure these people are not referring to their other Citi AA cards? For example, my platinum select does not seem to initially process the load as CA - it processes as a regular purchase, posts faster, and doesn't eat up credit/CA advance limits unlike all my other Citi Exec cards. Also, are you sure they're not referring to the US Bank Visa Buxx? Because that also codes as a purchase from the get go and does not tie up cash advance limits.
My CA on this card is 3K but this is my second AA Exec card. I wonder if I use my first AA exec card to load TD, that will count towards meeting the spend req on the second card. Perhaps I need to ask in the AA forum. |

I think having all Buxx posts commingled in one single thread is a bad idea because apparently many folks got confused between USBuxx and TD Buxx, and in this case I am fairly confident to say, Citi regular AA does NOT behave the same way as Citi Exec AA based on posts here, exactly as you point out. |

My Citi Exec was giving me an error too even though I don't have anymore pending charges - they all posted as soon as my statement closed. My purchases were made on June 14th & June 19th.
Called Citi today and they said my I am $100 shy of my cash advance limit. I know it's been mentioned that it takes 3 weeks for these to clear and some have even reported being able to load w/their CA set to 0. Do you guys just load every 3 weeks? Is there a better way to clear up cash-advance limit? Thanks,

Just checked with Citi and my Exec card has a $1,500 CA limit which cannot be raised - used up $1000 on my previous TD Go load so I guess that explains why a subsequent load didn't go through. That charge has disappeared from my pending authorizations but still apparently only have $500 CA limit left - I don't know how long it takes for the CA to free up, as the TD loads can stay on as pending for weeks.

You have 3 line items displayed in your account details - Payment, Purchase, Cash Advances - anytime the Cash Advances show a number, that means your pending Cash Advances have NOT dropped off. It should be a 0 - not set to 0, but 0 being used up! Your available credit line also should be a telling number to give you a clue if any of the available credit is being eaten up by pending cash advances. Obviously you would need to do some math yourself as Citi's site would not tell you straight up, but you can figure this out if you know how to analyze the numbers. Setting CA to 0 meaning TD's transaction could not go thru. |

Is this with TD GoBuxx? I tried that with my Citi AA exec. It doesn't go through.
Moral of the story, don't try this with TD Gobuxx and Citi AA Exec, restoring the CA limit is pain in the arse. I lost one hard inquiry and have to close the card because they're not able to restore the CA even though I just reduce it to 0 couple of minutes earlier. I guess I'm not the only one :p |
Simple solution....divorce Citi. I ******* hate that bank.

I called Citi Exec today to find out why my loads were not going through with TD and they confirm that my CA limit has been reached and until TD comes and takes the funds from them, it will stay as a pending charge that impacts the CA.
My CA on this card is 3K but this is my second AA Exec card. I wonder if I use my first AA exec card to load TD, that will count towards meeting the spend req on the second card. Perhaps I need to ask in the AA forum. To earn EQM, if you know what EQM stands for, Yes. |

Why? Thought Only NW buzz can't work with Citcards as they treat them as CA |
Is anyone here in the military and tried using an APO/FPO to get the TD Bank Go Buxx card? APO/FPOs are some of the few "states" that they deliver to. I could always list my work address as an FPO and hope it makes it through the mail clerks to me.
If no one has tried it, I'm willing to be the guinea pig :) |
