So you can load directly from SCO by yourself?

I don't think that's what anyone is saying here. As far as I know, no you can't.

That is what I thought. SCO is only for unfriendly 200 to friendly 500 at 5.95.
EDIT: confirmed myself that Staples BHN MCGC does not work for $99 or $49 swipes when buying Vanilla or SS VGC |

Thanks for clarifying, I was confused as well with the occassional mention of SCO and unclear how SCO is being used. To summarize:
SCO can be used but only for unfriendly VGC. MCGC has not worked according to my experience and other DPs I've seen. SCO Cashier will NOT want to help you load. Use a regular CSR or MC No CSR has pushed me off to MC unless they literally didn't know how to do the load. MC - I've had limits on unfriendly cards as low as 49/swipe. |

SailorJoe - When you did Staples Pathward VGC to swap to SSVGCs, did you set/use a pin to do 99 swipes?
I tried to today. Was only able to to $49 swipes, no pin required. The good news is I was able to do 6 swipes before using a regular CC to pay the rest. |

This leaves $2 on VGC's 1 and 2 and $101 on VGC 3. Next time, I use VGC 3 with two more VGCs . After 2 trips, I have $2 left on each of VGCs 1-5. I drain those to Amazon GC online. VGC 0 sticks around with me until I've used it up for fees. Sometimes, I replace the "fees" VGC with a CC that earns bonus at WM. Rotating categories and all that. Staples allows 8 VGC per customer per day, so yeah... I'm throwing away a lot of plastic over time. :-D |

Pathward is not useful info. Bank isn't the problem, servicer is the problem. BHN vs. InComm is the useful part. Yes. I always set and use the pin for $99 swipes. I use 4 cards total each time. I swipe VGC1 for $99 & enter pin, repeat for VGC2 and VGC3, then circle back around to VGC1 and VGC2. Finally, VGC4 is my "fees" card so I aways swipe it at the end. I use the "Split Payment" button for the first 5 swipes, then don't use it for the last "fees" swipe. Never asks for a pin on the last swipe. 100% I agree BHN matters most, but I have found difference between the BHN MB vs BHN PW cards. 49s worked today. Will set pins and try 99s tomorrow and report back for additional DP! |
DP: 7 swipes with unfriendly VGCs to convert to SS VGC.
Question: do SS MCGCs allow $500 loads? Anyone have a DP? |
Hey all. Turns out this strategy might draw too much attention. Please see my post in WM VGC Master Thread
