Sorry, I'm a little behind but this is interesting.

For the second time in < 30 days I've tried to load 3 x 500's - 1000 on one card and 500 on another (different names) I tend to do 1000 on the first as 2 individual swipes, and those worked. The 3rd (on the other card) comes out with that dreaded tiny receipt. You obviously loaded more than I tried total. Do you think it's because you're loading less than 1000 each? Or that there are mixed denominations?

These are all 500 SS cards.

I still have cards to load. I may try this scheme in the next day or 2.

I usually have no problem doing exactly what you describe. Did you ask them what code was on the tiny receipt? There's a list of codes somewhere in this thread that might help narrow it down. Could be another customer loaded in the last 10 minutes. Or your store has lower velocity limits.

Giftcardshop currently has a no fee sale. I was thinking of combining it with my Usbank offer of $100 off when you make 50 $10 purchases, that is if giftcardshop allows Paypal Buy Now Pay Later (Topcashback no longer allows it).

If that helps: I have never had issues with liquidating their cards full swipe. The only annoying thing with them is Chase blocking the GC purchase every single time and me having to call them to get it through :|

Well, though the test with the real debit card worked fine, this method is a non-starter for me. MC cashiers here are checking for gift cards and don't allow them to be used for loads.

Anyone have recent experience with Kroger VGC or MC for Discover load? They are Pathward BHN I believe.

It used to be possible to load at any register in the entire store. They changed something in their system last year where the standard registers immediately reject after you enter your zip code. It may still work at certain registers. Difficulty is finding someone on the floor who knows how to do it and is willing, and who will do more than $200. Every store is different, every clerk is different.

If it is anything like at the stores nearby, the cashiers have been told by management to automatically direct you to the Customer Service/Money Center counter.
This requires one less training task for the cashiers to learn.
And the cashiers are happy because it is one less thing to deal with.
All gift card purchases are done at the Customer Service/Money Center counter as well.
So you can end up being stuck in line for a long time.

Waiting ~10 minutes between loads worked.

I did a 297 load yesterday, and tried to follow up with another 297 load using the same cards in same order. Declined on final swipe and transaction cancelled code 63.

Today, I did a 297 load on discover, then a 297 load right after to my ONE. This worked. Could just be a coincidence? I assumed it was Walmart blocking the loads, but maybe it's discover? Wondering if anyone else has similar datapoints within the past month.

I have too load like this with a 10 min or so pause between the two $297 loads when I’m loading at a neighborhood walmart store. I don’t have any issue at the non grocery walmart store and can load them one after the other without any pause in between.

Sorry, I should have reported back sooner. As it turns out, my cards got shuffled over the first and second loads. I thought I had used my oldest card (failed on the Jan load) in the first set this month. Not so. The same card was the one that failed, confirmed after looking at the card online.

A hold had been placed on the card and I was instructed to call in. I have a replacement card "in the mail". We'll see. My mistake for not seeing this before and for not keeping my cards in purchase-date order.

More recently I was able to load 1000 via 2 cards and 2 loads onto one of our Discover cards, no problem. I've been hesitant to try single loads with split payment with cards failing on occasion. I'll gamble with this again one day.
