This is the thread for 2018.
The previous discussion from 2016 on this topic can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...thread-77.html
The thread for 2017 is here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1825524-giftcardmall-master-thread-2017-a-97.html

Giftcardmall (and giftcards.com) now limit Visa loads to $250. No more $500 cards, Change happened sometime in 2020.

What portal is currently offering the highest payout for GCM?
Check cashbackmonitor and cashbackholic for current payouts. Be sure to review the T&C for GCM at each portal as some offer lower payouts for Visa GCs.

Amex gift cards cannot be used to buy Visa gift cards

VGC issued by metabank. Cards come activated.

-------------------------

Monthly Limit is 30K per GCM account for a revolving 30 days. Once you hit 15K, GCM will display a message on the screen letting you know you hit the limit.

Start out slow 1k and then another 1k - they will call to verify the card, and shipping address. Next order they will not call. Orders under 2k have free shipping.

If you get this error:

This transaction was not completed. The transaction was not submitted correctly, or has been declined by your card issuer. You can try again with a different card or review your payment information for any necessary corrections.

- A Few people report it is blocked for the day, try again the next day. MOST ppl report being permanently blocked. Or you entered a wrong 3-digit security number.
GCM recommends using the Chrome or Firefox browsers. Be sure you are not using an ad blocker and not disabling any cookie settings (3rd party, tracking, etc.) from the default or you may get this error.

Direct support Numbers is 877.426.2551

Warning: Orders can be lost or stolen. Call to have the cards reissued or canceled. Orders usually arrive in 5-10 days.

Check your cc for pending or posted payments and call about your order if you are concerned it is taking a long time for delivery. Sometimes GCM was taking up to 2 weeks for delivery.

Between TCB and BF the latter has been more reliable in recent history. So having the same CB rate alone will not yet make TCB preferable, but it's still a good move.

There was a promo on gcm on the happy you cards which sold out quickly but TCB has 5% cb on happy cards so that's probably why it was trending.

My last 2 orders (today and yesterday) have gone through ok, and interestingly, both required captcha verification, which had been a first for me. Haven't seen that on GCM before. Connection?

This will be my first time making a GCM order of $5000 visa gift card to meet CIP Sub. Is it recommended to do tracking with it? How common does package get lost? <Thats what I fear the most..losing $5000.

I have not had any issues with missing orders. If you are ordering that with one order; free shipping isn't an option anyway.

1/2 of the refunded order arrived on 03/17, with 03/13 stamp - while the order was refunded on 03/09. There is serious disconnect between order processing dept and order fulfillment dept. Of course the 2 cards are deactivated as in the sense that Check Balance does not recognize the card number.

I usually prefer to spread the risk between smaller value packages. Just like any mail, GCM packages do get seriously delayed or lost (it's hard to tell the difference with or without tracking). If you don't receive the cards within 2 weeks of mailing, GCM will investigate and cover the loss. So far no one has reported any disagreements with GCM whether their package was truely lost.
However, if there should be such disagreement, then tracking is NOT your friend. Tracking may show that you received the package, and it will be difficult to prove otherwise. One argument in favor of tracking -- some users report that USPS is more careful with such packages.

Another DP today: order number assigned, but "unable to process" immediately followed by "Refunded".
CC was not charged.

My 2 cents

So does anybody know what the deal is with GCM now? Now, anytime i make more than 1 order in 24 hours, regardless of the order size, it gets cancelled and refunded*. Effectively this caps us at $10.5k/week in purchases now.

*similar to what Happy and MaxVO have reported.

Why 10.5k/week? You can place 3x500 + 1x499 orders and get free shipping, effectively doing the same 60k/mo volume.

I have had no problem with multiple purchases. I am limited to $10K/day, and their calculation of that is sometimes curious, but I frequently do 2-5 orders ($1500 + purchase fee) per day, including yesterday.

Interesting, makes me think me and a few others here have been purposely throttled.

Edit: did 2x 1999 orders today, already reported to BF portal, so I'm guessing it'll go through. Probably some people are getting throttled. GCM has always been weird for some.

they changed some throttling rules. but it's still possible to bypass and complete 6 x $1500 orders in a day. still no way to bypass $10k/day on a single credit card even if used across multiple accounts because they also fixed the loophole where predesign and custom vgc limits were independent. all happened when they fixed their javascript error that allowed free shipping to be selected from the dropdown. they fixed that bug and implemented a few additional "features" at the same time.
