I dropped one of my giftcard in walmart when i went there to do bill pay. Some one took the card. I noticed it when i went to pay the bills , but then i thought i might have missed one card at home. Came back to home - Nothing.

Called GC.com and gave the last 4 digits of the card from the order details and immediately blocked the card. But by the time 60 $ have been used in the same walmart by someone.

Now GC.com is sending me a new gift card for 440$. But when asked about the unauthorized 60$ ,they said they have no responsibility and cannot be disputed.

Now i see this form http://www.giftcards.com/lost-stolen-gift-card and asked them about it. They said u can send in , but there is no guarantee ill get the money back.

Any experience like this for any one and how to resolve it ? i am glad that iam getting most of the money , but still any idea on how to get the remaining money ?

If you dropped cash on the ground, would you expect the bank that you got it from to reimburse you for it? You are lucky that whoever picked it up wasn't smart enough to figure out how much was on it or keep trying to use it. Take it as a lesson and treat your prepaids like cash in the future.

You should definitely fill out the form as they might get police or walmart to investigate (very unlikely over a small amount, but possible) and you might get the $60 back.
