How are you getting fuel points for Variable GCs at Kroger? They are not supposed to be giving points for any variable cards.... only fixed amount cards. Or are you buying fixed cards at the lower fixed point?

I know when I bought the variable Visa GCs, I didn't earn the fuel points. Purchasing five $100 GCs did yield 2,000+ fuel points I can use now though

$100 cards. Cost almost $60 in fees (actually a little less since I was cashing out a AGC and I would have had to pay $10 anyway so the extra cost was $50), but save $140 in fuel (always get the full 35 gallons). True the variables don't get points. Wish they did - that would be the bomb.

I am not sure if this has been answered before. Increasingly, I am having trouble using the gift cards bought at Kroger at Wal Mart CSD. The PIN has been changed to my choice. The amount is there. I even registered them online after the first decline. But when I use them, I get the error - debit not available. When I called the customer service for US Bancorp last night, the lady had no clue. She first said, use it as credit. When I told her that wasn't an option, she came back 10 minutes later and said that I tried to get cash out of the card which is not allowed. I said, I did no such thing. Finally, after another 10 minutes, she said that she has unlocked my pin and now I can use it. I haven't tried it but I seriously doubt, this will work. Anyone else has experienced this problem? Any work around? This just started happening a week ago and now it seems its every other card from Kroger. Sunnies work without a hitch.

I just had the same issue with a card. I gave it up after many swipes and changing pins few times. Used it for payments online.

I got same issue with 3 out of 6 VGCs from Kroger recently. I gave up after so many tries. One last option for me is to go to another Walmart and hope they can load.

An update: Both cards worked at wal mart CSD. So pin unlock is the cure? Not sure.. We need more data points for sure..

Well I actually get $.40 off per gallon at Shell stations, or will I just earn 400 fuel points?
At the Ralphs near me (central coast, california), sometime in the last year, when they advertised 40 cents off per gallon, I got 40 cents off per gallon at Shell (even though that's more than the usual max at Shell, i.e., it's treated differently than just 400 fuel points).

I am not finding an answer for this. Are there issues using OV at Kroger to purchase MO? I suddenly receive "tender not allowed" messages. Other debit cards still work fine.

I know it's not a super recent data point but I wanted to at least give you a reply...

I got a MO about 3 weeks ago with Vanillas with no issues at all.

Thanks. I tried twice, two different cards, two different days and had no luck. This was between July 30 and Aug 3. It was the same Kroger so it could be a problem with their POS. both OV loaded at FD.

I bought one yesterday at a different grocery chain in Texas. At my Kroger the unfriendly CSR was selling the MO's. She is the only one who has ever asked to see the debit card being used. I just avoid her and buy VGCs when she is on shift.

I had 20 minutes of trouble trying to call and change the PIN on mine today shortly after purchase.

"Invalid number" for the card number happened a few times, then it took. Then it said the security code on the back was invalid. Then it complained I entered too many digits after the 2nd digit. Then back to the full card number being invalid. All this over 5-6 back-to-back calls.

I panicked a bit, waited 10 minutes and retried. It all went smooth. I guess I caught the system in some weird state for a few minutes.

Is it still 4x for gift cards at Kroger?
