I wouldn't go as far as not using BB BP. Transferring back to bank accounts seems risky.

Today I used firefox private browser to make two payments from two accounts, respectively, and both worked fine (by checking under "Pay a Bill-> last activity under accounts)

BP has been working fine for me. Sent $8xx to CC yesterday, and it posted today no problem.

Though, I only have two payees in my BP.

So glad I had the FREE checks to fall back on. I'd rather go through the check verification process than wonder if the BP is going to work soon.

Don't be so sure, but look how they resolved it:

Bluebird sent my credit card payment for which it sent me scheduled payment email showing correct account- to my utility account. It is like paying two years water bill in advance.

Called utility company to send me refund check. It will take few weeks to reach me.

Lesson learned

Bill Pay-Check twice- Click once

I had same issue(think gave details in other thread). Close to 3500 sent to Chase instead of Barclay's. Chase was nice enough to agree to send me refund check in 7-10 days.

This whole experience left a bad taste for me.

Granted I am not saying that BB is not guilty in this fiasco and they should provide both the Payee Nickname and the Account number on the review screen before hitting submit but people need to be memorizing the last 4 digits of their credit cards. After submitting the transaction, people should be going back to the Payment screen and verifying that it is truly sending it to the correct account.

People are verifying account numbers. It is simple - confirmations after payments made say one payee was paid...but, the funds were actually sent to a different payee.

Here is my finding.

If you got one bill pay wrong, your EVERY Bill pay is likely to be wrong.
BlueBird bill pay data is cross linked which means Name says one thing but actually it is linked to wrong account.

For example, if I paid Chase card yesterday, I will be under the impression that I checked twice and paid correctly. In reality , payment is processed to wrong account say bank of america.

Click setting under the bill pay. You will be surprised to find wrong account details to which Bluebird will process payments

Why the $1640.80 check amount being added TWICE?

And for the trouble you have gone thru, they added $25 to your account?

Citi would ACH the fund back to you free of charge. They give you the options when you SM the bank about accidental payments, whether you want a check or ACH.

I would imagine Chase could at least offer such options as well?

Sorry, the bottom + should be a minus. The check was properly authorized, they sent me an email saying it wasn't, started to charge a fee for unauthorized check and stop payment, then realized they messed up and made the fees $0 and credited the money back. Then gave me $25 for my trouble. All this without me calling, just noticed it today when I logged in to see what the heck was going on with the emails. The $ was indeed cancelled from the account I deposited it into.

I did a couple of BPs this morning with separate accounts. First BP/account went fine. When I tried to BP using the second account, the payees from the first account loaded. It was definitely unusual. Had to go incognito to get the second BP from the second account taken care of but if I wasn't paying attention, Citi would have gotten some extra dough.

I don't know if this has affected anyone else, but here is what I see this morning.

On 3/2 I sent a $42 and $3 payment (to close out open amounts on cards I will close), 3/4 a $183 payment, and yesterday 3/6 I sent a $3k payment. On my transaction history on the main page, it shows those dates.

But when I go to by checking under Pay a Bill-> last activity under accounts, it now has 3/7 dates for those three payments. The one payment that posted properly (the $183) shows the 3/4 paydate.

So they may have withheld some payments early March until they sorted out the issue maybe?

So is there any consensus on how to avoid paying the wrong bill? I need to send a couple payments from two different accounts (each with multiple payees)?

Your only option is to redo every single payee. I did this Sunday and have had no problems paying multiple bills since then.

Paid my Citi card from both my wife and I's (separate) BB account. Both took place on 03/05 and both posted yesterday evening with no problem.

I did both from same browser with no tricks such as incognito, deleting cookies, etc. Also had several other accounts saved in BB.
