How do you check for payee correctness after the fact? The transaction details only shows the bank name, not the account # or the nickname. If I have 5 Citi cards in my BB account I can't tell which one the transaction is referring to.

I think the biggest worry right now is that you intend to pay off one card but the money gets sent to another card. That issue needs to get fixed first. Any update if its still doing anything like this?

Hopefully its fixed by now. That is rather scary and I would have rather seen BB shut down the site temporarily like Tmobile prepaid did by not allowing users to login while they fix this bug.

Arg... 4 of my payments went to my other accounts..
crazy as hell :(

The bill pay was slow so I used an iphone app. It went through smoothly.

Just tried to access via Google+ and BP won't load after home page. Good thing I'm still 4 days out from due date.

Where did my payment go?

I sent four payments on Tuesday (3/3/14) and two posted correctly. One posted to the wrong account but I can live with it. However, I can't quite figure out where the fourth posted. Fortunately, the missing payment was the smallest and only $4.55.

This definitely needs to be fixed with some communication from Amex before I try to send any more payments.

I also had a BP delivered to the wrong account. I sent it to pay an Amex and instead it posted to one of my Chase cards.

Not a big deal in my case, but yikes.

I found this thread after I was unable to use the BB bill pay function this morning.

This obviously sucks (and I sure hope it gets fixed ASAP), but they've actually sent money to the WRONG ACCOUNTS?

That's horrific. I guess I'd better double-check all my recent bill pays.

Now it's just not working for me. I guess that's better than sending it to the wrong account.

This really happened for two of my payments. Since it was just for different MS spend credit cards I have to pay anyway it is not a big deal for me. But, there could be others thinking they paid the mortgage (wait I did send my mortgage payment on Monday and that hasn't posted as of early this morning). I will now check with Wells Fargo because that will be a big deal if that is screwed up.

Mortgage Payment OK

Fortunately, Bluebird did pay my Mortgage correctly. This was sent on Saturday, March 1. For me it was just two Monday, March 3 credit card payments which went to the wrong payee.

hamhead Mar 5, 2014 10:39 am

I went back and checked the last couple of weeks of payments and they all seem to have posted properly and all accounted for, I have two pending payments sent on the 3rd but they are small to close out balances on cards I intend to cancel. No worries there yet.

Like how others feel, this is kind of a pain as I have a tendency to send multiple small payments each month (i.e, four $1k payments rather than one $4k payment) so if I need to implement more concise tracking of payments it'd be best if I alter my billpay habits.

For those with large amounts of Bluebirds they control, I can see this being a pain.

BB did it again. $3K that was supposed to go to Capital One was sent to Citi instead. Grrrr. I should have checked, but nonetheless, I can't afford to have $4K tied up while Citi decides whether and when to refund the credit balance.

mfFrom35K Mar 5, 2014 10:54 am

It is not clear to me that there is anything the user could do to avoid the problem. My e-mail confirmation for a payment that was supposed to pay my Barclay's Arrival but paid my Chase Freedom shows Barclay's. This was also true on the BB website when I looked an hour ago. I can't login now to verify again. Bottom line is that I asked BB to pay Barclay's but the money showed up at Chase even though the e-mail confirmation and website said I paid Barclays.

When you guys say it is posting to the wrong account, does it show the correct payee and account info on the BB website or does it show the account where it sent the payment to?

EDIT. This was answered. I will have to go monitor my last 4 bill pays. Great.

This could get real bad real quick. I will have to let Amex know a piece of me if I paid $2000 to my electric company....
