You mean you called BB to stop payment on this particular check after it is returned as NSF?
When was the date the check authorized? Since you said you always paid one month in advance, I assume your payment for March was done in early Feb? I am just trying to narrow down the period that affects the physical check that we do not even know about until now. Normally BB sends out an email when the check is presented for payment. I normally give it a 2 weeks lag between pre-authorizing the check and the clearance of the check, knowing how long it sometimes takes for the condo office to deposit the payments from everybody. Was the pre-authorization code written correctly on your check? Have you doubled-checked that? On Thursday I gave a pre-authorized check to my condo office for the installment payment of the special assessment. I sure hope it would go thru like it has been since last quarter of 2013. As of now the Condo hasn't deposited the check yet from what I understand. Not sure if I want to re-emptively stop payment on this. Yep, I called to have them return the funds because the check would not cash. I'm not sure if it was on BB's side or my complex's system, but I didn't have another option. My complex was not going to scan again. Not the typical definition of a "stop payment", as it was never paid, but that is what BB called it. I preauthorized the check three days before I presented it for payment. I usually preauthorize the same day or maybe a day before, so this shouldn't be a triggering factor. I think I stated it, but if not, March is the only month I didn't pay in advance OR pay electronically via BB. So I did not make a payment in February for March, rather I made a payment in March for March. Not that that is of much importance here. Yup, I received the physical check back and I wrote everything as clear as I usually do. BB had no idea why. Keep in mind I use these checks bimonthly for my housekeeper, so this is not new to me and it was totally unexpected. |
Any new reports? I'm still sending money direct to my checking account, but I initiated a tiny direct bill pay to a credit card to see what happens!

BB had no idea why. Keep in mind I use these checks bimonthly for my housekeeper, so this is not new to me and it was totally unexpected. It normally takes 2 to 3 days after the confirmation email the image of the check would be viewable online. Will update. My guess is your complex's bank may not pick up the image of the check when it was scanned into the bank's system. As an illustration of possible cause(s) - Long time ago I had BofA reversed a whole bunch of MO deposit because the branch were I deposited them, had issues with its new scanning machine that seemed not picking up images ever so often. It was a deposit made on Friday so the physical checks were still at the branch, not being sent down to processing center in Miami yet. Took the branch teller manager lots of phone calls to get this straight out with the amount credited back to my account before 4pm of the day. |

One thing may make a difference of the cookie migration - I do NOT want BB to remember either the user id or the security question - those are manually typed in on each log in. I do this on ALL accounts be it financial or FFP to give one extra layer of security, or at least I feel so. I just did one payment in each account this morning. This time I did clear out cookies, caches and history. BB shows correct accounts are being paid. I will double-check early evening before the BB cut-off time. Both are to Chase but different individuals and of course different accounts. |

So far, as an update, all of my BB bill pays have gone through to CC's. |
how to withdraw money from BB to bank account? Any potential problems with this compared to direct BP to the bank?

Since Serve and BB use very similar systems, I will add that one of my PHYSICAL checks bounced from Serve. I usually "bill pay" my daycare twice a month. They are not a registered payee, so server sends them a check. Last week we were notified that the check that I initiated on February 24th. bounced. THe daycare sent me a scan of the bounced check. It was printed by "Wells Fargo." I called everyone (Serve, Wells Fargo, daycare account) and no one seemed to know why the check bounced. Serve opened up a dispute for me and refunded the money. They also game me $25 for the bounce fee.

Used BB bill pay today for the second time.
Added my VR with no problem. Added a couple new payees and sent out 4 payments no problem. |
Double check your BB bill pay payments! My BOA car payment was sent to CITI hilton #1. Chase credit card payment was sent to CITI hilton #2. Luckily I have all the documentation saved (emails, confirmation #'s, etc...), showing that I did pay the correct accounts. I wouldn't have even notice if I didn't log into my CITI Hilton account and see two cards, that I never use, with NEGATIVE balances.
One BP was done March 1, the other March 3. This is the only 1 BB out of the 3 BB accounts I have that I have found errors. But I might dig a little deeper now... Called BB and opened up 2 disputes. Ironically they were having technical difficulties during my call |
