This is the thread for posts through 2016. The new thread for 2017 is http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1826119-billpay-walmart-2017-a.html
Bill Pay cannot be done at a regular register.
It must be done at Customer Service/Returns.
Or at the Money Center in stores that have it.
BUSINESS DAY transaction completion time is 18:59:59 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------
WM offers two BP services: CheckFreePAY and MoneyGram. The cashier can initiate CheckFreePAY by selecting Money Services followed by Bill Pay on the register for a fee of $1-1.88. Moneygram is $4.99.
Once your CFP account is set up, you can add cc. When you want to BP give them your phone# to look up your account under Money Services. They often get confused and think you want MG, but just say it is under Money Services.
ONLY 4 successful debit card swipes can pay for a transaction.
ONLY 5 payments per 16 digit account number per rolling 30 days.
--------------------------------------------
:-:VISA and MC
If your particular card isn't on the list below, try "VISA" or "MASTERCARD."
"VISA" and "MASTERCARD" payee can no longer be found by search at some stores. If the employee can no longer find "VISA" or "MASTERCARD" by searching in CheckFreePAY, then you cannot pay either, end of story.
Following do not work:

Yes. This happened to me multiple times today at different non-WM locations that have always worked in the past. Unless this is some kind of "glitch" I'm going to venture and say that Bancorp/Incomm is shutting down or limiting the amount for PIN based transactions on their end.

Had problems at a local grocery store using OVs where they worked fine just yesterday. This was around 8:15-8:45PM EST tonight (Saturday). I'm glad it wasn't just me.
I'll try again on Monday.

Cashed out 4k using a non-MO route just in case the OV virus is spreading. Hopefully things are back online tomorrow...

Anyone able to successfully use OV cards at their favorite non-WM locales today after the outage last night?

All is well
The issue on Saturday with OVs at my local grocery store(s) has been resolved. I cashed out all of my OVs today. It seems like there were communication/network problems with Vanilla yesterday.

I hate WM. Can. Not. Stand. It.
Also, cannot get my CSRs trained in billpay split payments. I've tried 3 cashiers and two "supervisors" on three different trips. Today, the line started stacking up behind me and my CSR was 68. Did not want to push it. First, did not want the line to get longer and second, did not want to torture the older woman who seemed very nice and perfectly capable, just untrained. Why the heck is a 68-year-old woman with aches and pains standing on her feet all day in a crappy Walmart? There's something wrong with that.
On the plus side, no problem draining the VGCs issued by 2 different banks to pay my Citi Exec.

It's a pain learning a new system every other week, but if I'm going to keep on keeping on with serious MS, I guess that's what it takes.
