Aren't you all tired of MSing? Driving to WM, having cards not load, being turned down by clueless cashiers with attitude? Send me your GCs, and I will load them for you, for only a 50% "convenience fee". PM me, and I'll send you my post office box address. :D

Just a few?

I own entire national chains of grocery stores and gas stations for more MS opportunity on my Amex Blue Cash.

If anybody cares, I bought an AMEX Gift Card (for actual gifting purposes!) yesterday at my local, Brooklyn, NY, CVS.

I used my credit card. The cashier had NO idea what she was doing and didn't charge me the activation fee. I checked the value of the card when I got back to the office, and the full value was there, so I guess chalk that one up to human error? Fine with me!

No Human error, currently CVS's AMGC are fee free.

Nice. Is this regional? I didn't see anything in the recent ads.

This is the same at Walmart. I saw it last night. It only apply to $100 AMEX gc. I think it's good till a certain date. I forgot what date.

$0 fee instead of the 5.95.

Some moderator is going to come on and say this isn't the right thread for this question. Who the (heck) knows what is the right thread for it?

When you get a "free" AMGC, what do you do with it? You can't pay anything with it at WM. I don't think you can use it on Evolve. I'm sure you can buy groceries with it, but you could do that with the same credit card you bought the AMGC with, and miss the fees. I like the idea of "free", but only if I have a use for it.

If you buy the AGC at a store where you get 5x and then use for everyday spend at other stores? Otherwise, I'm not aware of a good way to liquidate AGCs.

if you buy the $100 AGCs from WM supercenters, you won't get 5% using OBC but if you use the citi 2xcb card, that's still a small profit since there's no purchase fee. I give these AGCs as gifts during the holidays.

Ok noob question. My local CVS has Amex Serve cards for 0% load fee. S I used my Amex PRG and loaded $500 to it. Clerk didn't even ask for ID. Trying to meet my spending requirments. So when I log into my amex account, it just shows I spent $500 at CVS. This wont be treated as cash advance will it?

You can use these fee-free AGCs to load AFT. Limit $5K a month.

No it wont. All AMEX sees is you bought something for $500; it could be a gift card, it could be a moderately expensive prescription.

That's not to say that AMEX wouldn't (very strongly) suspect you bought a gift card, but they treat it just like any other purchase.

Wait a sec, you were able to load your temp Serve card with CC? Maybe CVS didn't hard code the temp Serve cards to not accept CC. I assume Serve reloads are still hard coded against CCs.
