Don't sweat it everyone. I've assembled a stealth slate of opposition candidates for the AXP board. Once we've got our directors in place, Chenault's out, I'm in. 15% payouts on portals and $100k/month on AFT, so easy peasy. Buffett's no pushover in a proxy battle, but I think we've got the votes. Besides, I hear he's an MSer, so feel free to tender your resignation at your day job. It's in the bag.

No it wont. All AMEX sees is you bought something for $500; it could be a gift card, it could be a moderately expensive prescription.
That's not to say that AMEX wouldn't (very strongly) suspect you bought a gift card, but they treat it just like any other purchase. |
Sorry to take this thread off the rails but I have an actual question - anyone in the S. FL area, who had a previously locked down CVS, seen any recent changes in their ability to buy cards?

Wait a sec, you were able to load your temp Serve card with CC? Maybe CVS didn't hard code the temp Serve cards to not accept CC. I assume Serve reloads are still hard coded against CCs.

Yes I was able too with no problems. Even went back with my wife & had her do the same thing. Have not tried to reload it yet, just got it there and loaded $500 as did my wife.

I see. Well the temp Serve card is just whatever but really what matters is to be able to reload the permanent Serve card with CC.

also was able to load temp serve card with cc for $500- SO did the same.

Yes, the CVSs are jumpy because of recent south Florida fraud involving fake IDs and cards buying large amounts of GCs. One response has been to limit hours of GC sale, but clerks are all confused as to purchase limits. Each store and each clerk seems to have a different interpretation of what is allowed. Can't speak to Serve as I don't use it.

If by VL you mean variable, then yeah cause the fee waiver is/was only the fixed amount cards. I believe upto $100.
