I'll join in the confirmed $2k limit confirmation.

What a dumbass... Wait, it was me!

I just came back from the downtown Madison CVS -- I haven't been there in over a week -- and the cashier asked me, "You know about the new rules, right?"

I mentioned a $2000 limit and she looked at a sheet and read off "$2000 limit per day, $300 limit per card" (!).

I'm going to go there again this week to confirm with a manager, but if the $300 per card is correct, I won't be buying GCs there anymore.

as my friendly CVS manager told me that $300 limit, is if purchase over 300, system will flag cashier for asking drivers license to scan (like they do now after the 2nd GC.)

Better yet, my register was hardcoded to $2,000 but gave an error message that I had exceed $5,000 in purchases for the day. That made for a lot of staff confusion. Cary Cheney should be proud!

Yep, my CVS registers were already hard coded for $2k. The cashier seemed puzzled.

the cashiers are confused???

AlohaDaveKennedy Oct 20, 2014 10:43 pm

Memo says implementation of new limit on the 27th when it appears to have been implemented now, error says $5,000 limit exceeded when cashiers know it has not, and cashiers tried several times to resolve the issue because the printed receipt error made no sense. Cary's memo and Cary's system changes are not in alignment.

once this goes full effect, everyone's ms game will be hit hard. gonna be difficult to pull any type of volume now, especially with the $300 limit on id scan.

is this ms game crumbling before our very eyes?

Potential end to multiple CVS stores purchases...

Yep...if a DL scan is required for GC purchases >$300 ....then the loophole is fixed.....sadly.....not good but still can MS about 60k a month/per DL ...

$2k Max enforced in Dallas Texas and also in New Hampshire according to my friend.

Is there an alternative form of ID that could be used? Passport? Something else?

To those seeing the $2k limit hard coded now, please mention your general area so we can track this. In Philly suburbs I bought $5k this morning so not hard coded here.

Also, has anyone tried a VR since the change? Could they maybe allow them again with the lower limits? Worth a look.

CVS master thread

Which cards are you guys buying at CVS? I was getting OV earlier this month and cashing them through Amazon. Anybody care to PM good avenues to cash out OV now that Amazon is dead? I tried Wally and it did not work.

I am from New Jersey and none of the grocery stores near me allow money order purchases with a debit card.

Anyone in LAX/OC area confirm if the $2K limit is in place? I plan to buy some more cards later on today but just wanted to know if anyone has bought any today.
