I usually only deposit 2 or 3 money orders. 1000 would be way too many.

Has anyone considered that maybe this was a tactic used by CVS to negotiate a lower fee from InComm? The CVS memo did give as a reason an increase in fees which made continued selling of VR via CC not worthwhile. After the dust settles and a comparison can be made between first and second quarter sales of VR, maybe InComm will be persuaded to strike a new fee arrangement which will be beneficial to both parties. Don't be surprised if the cash only policy gets reversed later in the year.

Were that a tactic, Walgreens would likely be accepting CC for VR again.

Is that a register hardcoded or just CSR denial?

Not sure. I swiped my debit card, the transaction hung, then she had to check her notes and realized they got rid of debit card as an option.

Got denied for WMBP yesterday. As soon as the Money Store woman saw my OV cards, she immediately said "you can't do BP with those". It being the first I'd heard of that, and having had recent success with other local WMs, I asked for a manager. She said it was a one store policy, started "sometime this year", because "there was some sort of problem with those cards". Sigh....

I'm off now to several WMs to BP all of the OVs my wife and I have gotten the last few days, since my second AA Elite MC is due this afternoon. As much as I want to get it charged up before the statement closes, I really, really don't want to end up holding $20K in OVs that I can't do BP with.

There were too many scams running , the main one was people called up the stores as if they were Execs with MVD or CV and got the employees to scratch off the card and tell them the pin...

But really, this scam doesn't go away just by restricting VRs to cash, right?

If CVS made the switch primarily because of increased InComm fees, it does seem plausible that InComm could budge and reverse the increase. Sure would be nice!

Just signed up for AA 100K card today (bad timing, should have thought about this earlier) - which cards are still able to be purchased in-store (CVS or wherever) by CC and then put onto Bluebird at Walmart, $1K per day?

Do we have an email address for Cary Chaney?

It's time that jerk hear from each member on here. He should definitely feel the pain!

chicagoflyer1976 Apr 4, 2014 2:19 pm

In addition- I hope everyone boycotts CVS. I know I will! I used to pick up other things I needed while I was there, but not anymore!

Zgirl Apr 4, 2014 2:28 pm

Now I need to figure out what to do with Emerald and JH Preferred cards.

JH Preferred charges a $3.00 monthly fee if no VRs of at least $1K. Emerald is useless too but at least there are no monthly fees...

Really..... should have been investigated before going after the citi card... There is a BB thread in the MS forum, my suggestion would be READ the thread before asking this question...

I'm transferring my RX's out of there...

So let me get this straight. Those of you who are mad at CVS for changing it's policy on selling VR's with a CC are now going to boycott basically the ONLY place you could buy VR's with a CC for at least the last 12 months. And to top it off you are going to give your business to a store that wouldn't even let you buy VR's with a CC from the start or stopped selling them via CC over 12 months ago. Yep, that makes perfect sense to me

I will transfer my med to walmart soon, not because I hate CVS after VR, but CVS cost about 40% higher in co-payment average for my med, and location of CVS is not on my way home, and I will go to walmart more often than CVS now.

Mr. Chaney's contact info is publicly available (from cvs): 401-770-5077; [email protected].

Altho I doubt it, a politely worded text/email might have some effect.
