I checked my statement and the 1x came from a CVS that was only coded as "CVS" whereas the 5x one coded as "CVS Pharmacy".

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I call Citi to ensure I get the 5x? I really don't want to bring attention to my account and the series of $503.95 charges from drug stores this quarter...

I would say the safe thing would be to just go back to the 5x one and make up the difference, rather than attract prying eyes...

Same thing happened to me this statement: one drugstore purchase was miscoded. No way am I going to call Citi and try to explain why I should get 5% cashback for a $503.95 CVS purchase that is excluded from cashback. (and hope they don't notice my string of $503.95 and $1,007.90 CVS purchases). I'll just buy another VR from a store I know works.

Do you earn any CVS bucks/rewards/points on the VRs we purchase? Just curious.

Right now. I just give them Serve1, load $500. Swipe CC, get receipt, then ask cashier to load another $500 to Serve1. 2 Transactions, 2 Receipt.

First, a big thank you to everyone on this thread. I spent the last week reading about travel hacking and MS and this thread has been extremely helpful. Today was my first purchase. I went to 5 gas stations, a supermarket, and 2 CVS. None of the gas stations had gift cards. The supermarket (Pathmark) had them so I bought a $500 Visa gift card.

The first CVS didn't have beans and didn't take CC. The second one had a nice rack of beans so I bought two for $500 each.

I used the $500 Visa gift card to pay some student loans using Evolve.

I spent a total of $1500 today and I don't even have my Serve or BB card yet! :p They should get here sometime this week, so I'll load the $1000 in beans into BB when it arrives.

I had a similar question with sosamo. What's the most efficient way to load multiple Serve cards using the same credit card? Similarly, what's the most efficient way to load multiple Serve cards if I had multiple credit cards?

Thanks again to everyone's information throughout this thread in helping me get started.

Find a patient cashier! :D

I don't have Serve, but I imagine you could have the cashier do a split tender payment on the Serve load to use multiple cards in one transaction. It might be easier to ring everything up separately if the cashier doesn't know how to split payment methods. The only caveat is that multiple purchases of the same amount may be more likely to generate a fraud alert than one larger purchase.

Thanks for taking the time to read this great, and welcome to posting on FlyerTalk after four years of lurking! :)

Split tender at CVS is usually easy, the system will automatically unload the gift card and just leave remaining balance, no special CSR input needed. The worst part is reading them the last 4 for each card.

I have a similar methodical procedure when dealing with any prepaid cards. ^

left back poket: new GCs to burn
right back pocket: burnt and receipts
front left pocket: Mos gotten
front right pocket: phone and keys

coat: wallet and stock (if needed)

*****

[Chorus - Rihanna]
I'm friends with the MSer
That's under my bed
Get along with the CVS clerk’s voices inside of my head
You're trying to save me
Stop holding your breath
And you think I'm crazy
Yeah, you think I'm crazy (crazy)

That's a very lackluster effort by you :p.

Ok... SELENA GOMEZ maybe? :D

It's been said and done
Every beautiful MS deal's been already run
And I guess right now here's another one
So your favorite clerk will sell on and on, with the best of 'em
GCs are beautiful, like a dream come alive, incredible
A sinful, miracle, lyrical
They've saved my life again
And I want you to know baby

[Chorus]
I, I love you like a Money Order printer sound, baby
I, I love you like a Money Order printer sound, baby
I, I love you like a Money Order printer sound, baby

And I keep hitting re-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat

CVS now $5k/day

Much better :D

My cashier threw a hissy fit today saying that the signature I used on their dinky keypad didn't match the signature on my DL(apparently it's their "policy"). I mentioned that signing my name on the touchpad(I have a long signature) is especially hard and she wanted none of it. Finally had to show her the rest of my credit cards and my business card to prove that I was legit(couldn't get my signature to be close enough to the DL). The fact that my name on the DL and the name on the CC matched didn't matter to her.

Weird. Never going to that store again.

No, I would actually speak to her manager about this.

none of those stupid touch pad machines can capture a sig the same way. Some dont even work. Tell the manager that if the darn thing doesnt work, that's their prob and the manufacturer (not the MSer lol) but not yours!

Ask the manager to have a talk with her and have her come around and try to sign HER name.

WT eff is wrong with some of these clerks!

Def call her out on this one man. Do not just walk away. :td:

CVS now $5k/day

If the signature matches the back of the card, that is all that matters. Requesting more is against the card issuer terms and conditions.

Marathon Man Mar 19, 2014 12:05 am

Right, but poster is saying the signature one tries to make with the dumb cvs pen on their touch pad cant hardly ever really match any from id or cc... Because many of such touch pads do a pretty bad job of capturing peoples signatures. Clerk could have and should have opted to make him sign a printed slip in addition to the one on the often failed machines
