lol it seems my regular CVS guy knows I'm a MSer now. He just asks me if its $500 apiece? He commented it's a common amount people want with a wink.

No offense, but that's not a very good strategy. You're not doing anything wrong, so why are you pretending to do something else? All of my best store relationships have been built by letting the right people know at the right time exactly what I'm doing, not making up some bogus reason that won't hold water the second someone starts asking questions or doing some basic arithmetic.

Deceit?

Where in the world did you get this idea?

Perhaps for you it would be a deciet. For me it's a business model. I could share with you my business plan and model but I'd have to charge you a fee.

So you're actually giving out $500 cards to your clients?

Often $1000 or more. But typically less than $4000 per client.

Asides from giving GCs to my clients I also buy giftcards at a discount and sell at retail.

HOw much more honesty do you want?

Well, if that's what you're actually doing then I guess that's that. But I think a lot of people who are doing what the vast majority are doing (i.e., just liquidating and paying off CC) also feel like they need to invent stories to explain their behavior, when honestly (when applied appropriately) is more likely the best course of action.

Never experienced or heard of that before. You present them with only one VR and ring it up and then tell them you now want to buy another one with a different card. What would you do if you worked at CVS? I would ring up a second sale. It's the register that tells them to do the scan. I don't believe they can decide to scan your DL on their own although they might ask to SEE your DL.

By the way, your response to MarcusBWI was not at all rude. Some people may misinterpret your words or may be more sensitive than the average guy or gal.

Every store I visit, about 6 cvs in nj all require one transaction. No splitting.

In your earlier post you said you can push to $5k per visit. Would that be for client gifts/card resale only as well? I call your bluff on that :) and I think gloreglabert got it right,

At first I too was concerned and only stopped for $500 at each store. Then stopped wasting time gas and patience. I now go in and easily buy $2k at a time. Only limited by number of bb. That is on top of the $1k for serve.

March 1, will be 5k a day for 5 days. Then as necessary.

Not worth driving to 5 stores to stay under limits.

Find competent cashiers, make them your asset, and voila. You are set.

At some of the locations I frequent, cashiers usually ask if I want to do $500 per transaction/ or split. I say don't bother, ring up all at once.

It's funny. We had that too till this month. Pretty much now every time they remind one transaction. One was adamant that I had to buy all, even as my wife was with me.

Will be largely scaling back vanilla soon though. Going direct load via serve. Much less pia and well.... It is all profit, all free.

5k a day for 5 days starting March1? You have 5 BBs? Or you plan to hang on to 25k of VRs for 5 months to flush?

I recently discovered VRs and found a rare CVS in NJ which has VRs. So I want to pick up 20k of VRs before supplies disappear but am not sure what happens if I am shut down by BB before I flush them out.

BB is not the only card that can be loaded with VR...

Haven't seen too many reports of BB shutting people down. You're probably safe.

I don't do $5000 per trip. I probably could if I wanted to but it's not my preference. Bluff?
