I've only put VR's onto MVD Cards (My Vanilla Debit Card). What's benefit of using BB? Seems like additional, not needed, added step to me. I do VR to MVD & then to the bank. Repeat.

I hide them in chicagoland. I took a couple up to the register yesterday and the clerk said "Where did you find these? We've had people looking to buy them all week."

I said, "They were just in the gift card area, maybe you just got a new supply in."

Every man for himself, MSers.

I completely disagree with you. I've been running around for 2 weeks in Chicago trying to find these. This is very inconsiderate. It also prevents CVS from ordering more since they still show they have a lot in stock. I thought Flyertalker's helped each other and not make it more difficult for them. I am trying to pay get a few to add $ to BB to pay my real estate taxes that are due in 2 weeks.

I tried to pay for 2 VR ($1007.90 in total) using my Amex GC that had a balance of $1K. I swiped the card, the register took $1K and asked for extra $7.90. But cashier realized that my first card wasn't a credit card so he went to consult with manager who told him that he cannot do it and told him to cancel transaction (manager was using lots of words like some depts would do audit, find this and fire a cashier - something like that). So, transaction was voided, my Gc was charged $1K. 2 days passed - no refund. Is it usual or should I go to CVS store and investigate?

People like this, who ram through norms because they cannot help being inconsiderately selfish, are what slowly erode society.

There is a system in place to ensure supply meets demand, but that obviously doesn't concern you. I feel sorry for those in your life if this behavior isn't just isolated to ms...

It usually puts hold for 7 days. The fund will show up.

My go-to store has been out for a while so I hit two of my backups last week. Found five hidden in two locations and bought all five at one store and found four others hidden at the second store. Only needed three more since I was maxxed on BB, so I put the lone card back on the rack where it belonged. Finding the hidden ones added to the excitement for me :) thanks to whoever stashed them! ^

I usually hide hide VRs behind the stocks of Preparation H and Vagisil. Works like a charm.

Let's hope we don't come across each other at one of Chi's CVS's. It's because of small time players like you that CVS stores run dry in some areas. If you take only a couple at a time it will take a while before you deplete their inventory and their systems call for more. I was going to use some harsher words, but I held back in respect to other FT-ers.

How I miss dollar coins. Little problem with supply and didn't have to deal with stuff like VRs being hidden or high competition for them.

Yeah it is always fun to find hidden ones.

I saw my first FTer IRL last week in New Jersey. My girlfriend and I were looking for VR's and they were out, and as we were walking way a guy came and I could tell his eyes when straight to the lower right part the side of the GCs. First time I've noticed anyone else at a CVS looking for VRs (only been doing this since September though).

Anyway, he found two, so he must have had some hidden as well. We just went to another one and got it. CVS's in Bergen County are awesome for VR's (I don't live there, we stayed the weekend while I took the Foreign Service exam).

One cashier was so familiar with VRs, and even had some behind the counter (presumingly for a friend). Funny :-p

All of these discussion points about people hiding VRs in the store is simply sad. It makes me nervous in Milwaukee that the same is going on as I can't seem to find ANY VRs in my normal spots anymore...and that includes gas stations.

I know this is a long shot, but if you live in the Milwaukee area and know of where some beans could be found I would be appreciative.
