I just paid $3.95 at CVS to load a beans card with $500. Why is that a good deal? He said it costs me $3.95 each time I want to reload. What am I missing?

You're not missing anything. It's a terrible deal, for your own sanity, stay far far away from it ^

You're right, that is a terrible deal. I would not buy any more if I were you.

Just out of curiosity, where was this store?

East Armpit, Iowa. Seriously, the fee isn't waived? It would be a good deal to spend $80 to meet my $10k MS for Citi? The clerk thought it was cash only, but told me to run my CC through the machine to see if it worked...and it did, of course.

Why did you walk in the store to buy it, and what is that worth to you? You should be able to answer your own question, and if not, you shouldn't have done it in the first place. What am I missing?

I figured since everyone here was so savvy, that this form of MS was free like Amazon payments, Amex Serve, $1 coins from back in the day, etc. I was surprised to see the $3.95 fee. By the way, the clerk had three large unwrapped stacks of the cards.

anyone noticed an "MS" mark on CVS receipts? (right under total amount due), game over, they're on to us :)

Gas to visit the parents $50

Flowers for mom $35

CVS full of VR's PRICELESS!

Ugh - just had a clerk at a less-frequented store insist that I break up my transaction to one card per transaction. He and the "manager" who was on the phone behind him both said there computer "freezes up" on transactions over $500.

Of course, I got to card 2 before the transaction was "declined" (alt tender). Never got a fraud alert though.

Hey folks, apologies if this is wrong location but some of the people here seem highly knowledgeable. Question: if I set up an Amex BB acct in my kids names is it a bad idea to buy VR's with my card, deposit the money in kids BB accts and pay my cc bill from the kids accts? Trying to do 4 citi exec cards in two months. Two for my wife and two for me. Using kids info i set up a total of 4 bb accts to get around $5k monthly limit. Any help appreciated.

this needs to be asked in the BB forum...
