Hey folks, apologies if this is wrong location but some of the people here seem highly knowledgeable. Question: if I set up an Amex BB acct in my kids names is it a bad idea to buy VR's with my card, deposit the money in kids BB accts and pay my cc bill from the kids accts? Trying to do 4 citi exec cards in two months. Two for my wife and two for me. Using kids info i set up a total of 4 bb accts to get around $5k monthly limit. Any help appreciated.

I haven't had a problem doing just that. In fact, I haven't had a problem paying anybody via BB billpay.

FWIW, frugal travel guy recently had a cryptic post about possible changes with how strict BB may become in the near future. It's anybody's guess how seriously to take the warning.

I figured since everyone here was so savvy, that this form of MS was free like Amazon payments, Amex Serve, $1 coins from back in the day, etc. I was surprised to see the $3.95 fee. By the way, the clerk had three large unwrapped stacks of the cards.

Funny, because they come in cardboard cases...

At my CVS they keep them at the counter, and they were stacked in shrink-wrapped bundles.

Just make sure you have a way to liquidate them.
That's the only thing holding me back from AMEX GC's.

There is an easy way to liquidate some Amex GCs. There are threads in this forum that show the necessary product.

Would FTG know something we don't. I wonder what would cause him to be so sceptical/worried about this all of the sudden?

If they stopped VR --> BB, wouldn't BB see a sharp drop in usage?

I'm sure BB is "aware" of MS. Though we're probably not the segment of the population they are seeking.

AMEX surely knows this goes on. I'm sure all major CC companies know it's going on. Will there be an axe? We don't know. Just benefit while it's still available. ^
