Yes, you can do this. I have done it here and there. But PayPal is *much* pickier than, say, American Express (Bluebird). Doing this too much will likely result in a "fraud" shutdown by PayPal, possibly on both the sender and receiver's account. Good luck ever buying or selling on eBay after that. Even if you're not an eBay seller/buyer, you run the risk of having them hold thousands of dollars for no reason for an indeterminate amount of time. Since PayPal is not a bank, you can't use the threat of reports to banking regulators to try to get your money faster.

Ammm...you can make complains to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

building on vagrants' comment, i'd like to reiterate that paypal is straight-up evil in my experience and systematically defrauds their customers. and i say that as someone who sticks to the rules.

kudos to those who can profit from PP-related manufactured spend, but i think they're in a completely different category in terms of trustworthiness and i'd rather sell a kidney than have to depend on that company to actually uphold its legal obligations to its customers...including the company's own stated policies!

the good news is that you can sue them in small claims court and win.

About 3 weeks ago, I opened PP accounts for my wife and me. Since that time, I've been using mainly PP reloads and a few GDs to fund the account. I picked up some PP reloads today and loaded $500 to each of our accounts.

About 15 minutes later my wife received a call from PP. The man on the phone wanted to verify the reload card purchases were made by her and she was aware of the activity on her account. I've only loaded to her account; no purchases. Her account is at $3000 now.

He also asked if she had plans for the money in the account or any kind of goals for the money in the account. He suggested perhaps the money was intended to make purchases. So my wife said she intended to use the money to make purchases. The man was very considerate and thanked her for choosing PP... a couple of times.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? I had planned to transfer all the money from one PP account to the other, and then do an ACH to our bank account. Then in the future, I planned to just load only one PP account, then transfer funds to the other PP account, and ACH the funds to a bank account.

Any advice? Thanks

My advice is to forget PP for any kind of MS...especially if you ever buy or sell on ebay and need an account.

And if you are getting that type of scrutiny already, you'll be shut down in short order if you simply withdraw all that money.

Most people don't load up a ton of cash to PP, especially on opening a new account. PP seems to be very quick to spot patterns that might be fraudulent. Example: Someone steals a bunch of CC. They buy PPcash. Open a PP account, load it up then empty it. This is what your case looks like to them.

I suggest you sit on your PP accounts for some time. Use them for online spend as much as you can. Establish that you are not a risk before you start your MS.

My PP account has been established for many years. When I loaded my account with a few Moneypaks and withdrew the money to my bank account, I got an e-mail from the compliance department telling me to stop.

What about PP PrePaid? The back is Bancorp/NetSpend.

Anyone have any experience with "Paypal Here"? $10k on my BA card to get 35k points, which is 4 round trip tickets in Japan where I live on JAL. I'd gladly pay $270 in fees for four round trip tickets anywhere in Japan.

Hmm? Did you read this thread? "PayPal Here"?
