$20k and 200 transactions. Not $200k. :)

Well...that's a bit of a difference ;)

Thanks!

Yeah...lol. It is.
No problem.

Another cool thing is that it's not either or. Many forget that. So you could technically have 5 $20k transactions and not have to worry about a thing.
It's when you cross both, is when you're in trouble.

200 transactions as in 200 send/receive total?

TravelGuy1965 May 18, 2013 5:39 pm

Good question... Is this per year or over the life of the account?

1099k are generated on a yearly basis.

Load Paypal

What's the cheapest way to load some money into Paypal ($200 or so) and earn miles? I know about buying the Paypal card at a drugstore. Anything else?

I can think of three, all fairly ridiculous. In order of ridiculousness:

You can load a Gobank account with a miles-earning debit card at Walmart for free, link your Gobank account to your Paypal account, then transfer the money to PayPal.

You can load the money to a Bluebird at Walmart (using miles-earning debit card, same process as above), order Bluebird checks if you haven't already, write yourself a Bluebird check, then use PayPal's check deposit feature to deposit the check to your PayPal account.

Finally, you could order a PayPal Here reader and swipe your own credit card, paying 2.7% plus $0.30 I believe.

(Or you could not bother for 100-200 miles)

Unless you know what you are doing and/or can accept the risk.. dont play around with Paypal for churning.

There are ways to do it and then there are ways to get yourself shutdown.

As much as I hate PP I find using it pretty convenient (buying and selling).

PayPal Load Money card (like the VR) directly inject into PP. And, not sure if you can buy it with CCs, but there are other places you can buy PayPal Load Money cards...or possibly reload cards that are compatible with funding PP.

Not sure which PayPal Card you are talking about. I'm sure PayPal Load Money card, but if you are thinking of PayPal PrePaid, you can only flow money from PP to PrePaid for the instant transfer (you still can do basic transfer, but that's not the quickest way). Not vice versa. If you want to inject into the PP PrePaid, you can use VR or other reload cards, and then transfer the money back into PP with the basic transfer.

This week's Randall's ad (a Safeway grocery chain) has PayPal Pre-paid Mastercards with no fee when you add to your Just for U account. Enter your phone number at the register when purchasing for the deal to apply. Likely this is limit one. This is good through 6/4/13.

I saw this promo as well but couldn't figure out if you could get a PIN without registering the card.. what was your experience?

Using PayPal transfers to help meet minimum spend?

I live in an apartment owned by my parents. The rent for this apartment, which I presently pay via bank transfer to my father on the first of each month, is by far my biggest monthly expense.

As I consider doing for my first credit card churn, I realize that I could meet the minimum spends much more easily if I used credit cards to pay rent. My thought would be to pay the rent to my father via a PayPal transfer. (I'd have to cough up the 2.9% PayPal credit card fee, but this would seem to be worth it given the large spending bonuses I'd be earning.)

My question: Would PayPal transfers raise any flags or cause any problems, or are they considered a legitimate way to meet the minimum spend? (I can envision ways to abuse the system, but I'd be making a credit card-funded PayPal transfer only once a month, which hopefully wouldn't seem suspicious.)

No personal experience with PayPal, but the reading I've done on the product seems to shut a lot of people down. You might look into the Bluebird account to accomplish your goal. VR cards cost $3.95 per $500 so your % "fee" is also lower. I'd recommend reading up on the BlueBird threads here.
