Paypal is known for taking money out of accounts but to sell on ebay theres really no other way.
|
I got a warning from paypal today because i bought a paypal cash and deposited into my bank account.I'm lucky they didnt cancel my account but since they make so much money from me i doubt they will do that.
|
right, you wish. they will ask you for all the info on where you get your products to sell. that means distributor info/statements, etc, etc. Then they ban you. Then a month or 2 later a friend/family member of one of the paypal/ebay insiders will be that distributors new ebay supply line. heh
to all the suckers that actually gave ebay/paypal all the valuable info, you deserve it, how stupid can you be? |

It sure does seems like they are awfully quick to jump on anyone. |
Paypal is one of the worst organizations I have ever dealt with. After a few near misses with their draconian stonewalling, I only use them for ebay and link them to a separate bank account and pay only with AMEX.

They warned you after doing this ONE time? Or have you been doing this for a while?

I spent some time this morning reading through the Paypal debit MC terms and still couldn't figure this out:
If you lack funds in your Paypal account, purchases made with the Paypal debit are funded through the backup funding source. It looks like you can use a cc as the backup source. I can't figure out whether or not they tack a fee onto the transaction when Paypal uses the cc as a backup source. If there's no fee, you can use the Paypal debit to buy VRs or Paypal cash cards where credit cards may not be accepted and still get the points for the purchase. Right? |

Right? https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...&t=escalateTab What backup payment methods are available with my PayPal Debit Mastercard®? You can add a backup payment method for your PayPal Debit MasterCard®. We use your backup payment method when you pay with your debit card, but don't have enough money in your PayPal balance. These are acceptable backup payment methods: Your confirmed bank account Your PayPal Extras MasterCard® Your eBay MasterCard® Your PayPal Smart Connect account |
Fair enough.

A lot of people here mention how awful it is to do business with Paypal in general. Given that, what payment company / resources do you think it makes sense to deal with?
I'm not talking about using it for miles deals but for general purposes. Do you know any businesses that mostly use AP, Serve, Google or other payment services? Just trying to figure out what the best Paypal alternative is for the regular guy who owns a small business and takes in payments... |

Has anyone ever successfully the resolved the "Identity Verification Failure" error on paypal.com/cash? This is NOT a normal paypal identify verification error that is resolved through the Paypal Resolution Center; there are no Open Cases in the Resolution Center. I tried to navigate the phone menu but it's obviously designed to keep you as far away from a human being as possible.

Who pays what fees for Paypal Reload cards bought at Rite Aid or elsewhere?
Since late last year, I have been buying 2-3 Paypal reload cards each month at Rite Aid pharmacy. I try to use credit cards that give 5 percent cashback on these purchases. A few times I used my Amex gift cards bought from BigCrumbs, or used my Ink card to meet the 10k minimum spend requirement.
My question is that then you buy each $500 Paypal Reload card (plus the $3.95 fee) with a credit card, who pays what fees? Does Paypal take the $3.95, and then pay my credit card company a transaction fee? Or does Rite Aid pay that fee to my credit card company? If the latter, does Paypal pay any fee to Rite Aid for having their cards on sale at the store? The reason I am asking is because it would make me feel great if Paypal is paying the bulk of all the various fees since they have scammed me several times since I started selling on ebay (chargebacks after a week and other bs). I am also interested in learning whats involved just out of curiosity in case I ever start my own brick and mortar business. My understanding was that when you use a credit card, the store will pay Amex/MC/Visa/Discover a fee, with Amex fees typically being highest at 3 percent or more. This sucks as I like Rite Aid and hope they at least partially make up for it via Paypal paying them something for selling the cards. |
