Or better yet, use a Bluebird account. It adds to Paypal normally, but doesn't allow ACH pulls, so if Paypal ever tries to take money from the account they'll be refused. You'll probably lose your Paypal account, but you'll keep your money.

So I just received my Paypay debit card in todays mail. With all the talk of quick smackdowns, I'm almost hesitant to use it.

Anyone have a list of best practices to follow to ensure they don't come after you (or, a list of things that, if you do them, will result in the bum's rush)?

Just got a call from Amex fraud department. There were just 2 fraudulent charges on my Amex card - charges to Paypal.

My new Paypal debit has not even been activated yet. :eek:

Went to Walmart today to load bluebird using paypal debit card. I kept getting $100 debit together with $100 credit. The money never went into the BB account.. Has anyone had success loading BB with PP at Walmart??

Don't know specifically what the risks of this plan would be but Paypal is so quick to crush anyone who they suspect may be churning points, I'd be very cautious. Your card looks like it comes with some fees I wouldn't want to pay, but YMMV.

I'm also generally suspicious of any card whose website features lots of hot babes....why might they possibly want to distract you?

I only used my checking account to verify my paypal account, then I closed the checking in case paypal ever tries to rob me (also for churning the chase bonus). I'm careful to never use the checking account to pay for anything, and it is still confirmed and all is well. Been like that for over 2 years.

In the rare case I do sell something on ebay, I'd usually use the funds in the paypal account really soon. I would rather sell on craigslist or elsewhere, I get more $ that way anyway.

My brother and i would like to do this:

B->A->deposit to bank

We'd like to do it with about 1 or 2k (funded with cc), and we're ok with paying the 3%. Not looking to make this a regular thing, we just want to do it once.

Do you guys think it's safe?

Might get away with it once, but make that a regular practice and it's highly likely you'll get your account frozen and money seized for some time.
