There is no fee to you and your recourse is disputing the charge with your credit card issuer (who will issue a provisional credit immediately upon your dispute).

This is however a violation of PayPal's TOS which require you to use their dispute procedure before going down the chargeback route.

Pretty much. PayPal isn't going to eat the merchant discount for you.

I don't think so, but if you have a confirmed linked bank account then any payments you make will default to coming out of your bank account rather than charging to your credit card, and you have to remember to change it manually every time.

I wouldn't like to give PayPal my SSN.

Accidentally posted this in the mvd thead the first time. Oops. Anyway,
My brother and i would like to do this:

A->B->deposit to bank
B->A->deposit to bank

We'd like to do it with about 1 or 2k (funded with cc), and we're ok with paying the 3%. Not looking to make this a regular thing, we just want to do it once.

Do you guys think it's safe?

We'll be doing AP concurrently with this.

You could very easily get your accounts locked, so make sure you're OK to be without all that money for 180 days.

Am I missing out on more points earning potential?

This will most likely cause PayPal to freeze your account and lock you out of your money for weeks if not months. They specifically monitor money loaded via reload cards that is transferred out to your bank account. If you are lucky you might get one warning letter. Search on google... you will see many such tales of woe.

I've actually been doing paypal reload cards for about 3 months now. Maxing it out to $4000 every month. I haven't heard a peep. My friend and my wife has been doing it too.

But we know better than just put in the money and take it out. We actually buy stuff on ebay and pay for stuff with Paypal. Maybe about 10% of it.

I was worried when I started, but smooth sailing so far.

Thanks Pointsloop. That's good to know because I've read many of the painful stories. I guess this works fine as long as you are mixing in with other spending. I am going to experiment with this next month.

Also, I have never used any of the greendots or moneypacks to load my paypal account.

I've only used the blue and white paypal reload cards.

And for the remaining 90% do you cash out via ATM or cash advance, or do you transfer to bank account?

Do you suppose Paypal is more lax with bank transfers using Paypal cards rather than Moneypaks? I've been loading with Moneypak because I can get those with no fees.

Has anyone has issue finding paypal reload cards lately? Seems my local CVS no longer carries them.

I'm still seeing them at my CVS (yours might be out of stock), but the bigger question for me is expanding the stores where these are sold. Right now they are only available at CVS and RiteAid - and there are no CVS in WA and the local RiteAid refuses to take credit cards for them.

Trying to load paypal my cash. It's March 1 12:20AM Central time but the monthly limit has not been reset yet. It should have been reset to $4000 by now. Has anyone had the same problem?

I thought it was by calendar month too, but it's actually 30 days since you loaded the $4000. So, you have to wait 30 days since your first deposit to add more money. And it won't reset to $4000 immediately. You have to wait 30 days from the previous deposit dates.

Thats from my experience. Let us know if others have seen different.
