just a data point, I had three accounts for a year, they closed two yesterday and today after I tried to send money between. The transaction went pending for 5 hours or so and then I got the email:
Greetings from Amazon Payments. We are writing because it has come to our attention that you have opened multiple accounts. Amazon WebPay has a combined sending and receiving limit of $1000 per month per user. Multiple accounts opened to potentially enhance this limit will be closed. All pending transactions have been canceled and your Amazon Payments accounts closed. We appreciate your compliance with this matter and thank you for your interest in Amazon Payments. Sincerely, Account Specialist Amazon Payments https://payments.amazon.com Has Anybody tried creating new accounts once dust settles? |

I've fell victim....
I guess I seen this coming as last night it went Pending after they usually go through instantly. Greetings from Amazon Payments. This is strange. I had 3 accounts under my SSN and noticed that my third got suspended. I used to do A-B-C-A for about 2 months or so. I noticed the suspension when I tried to do C-A and it said such features have been disabled. Also I did not get an email. Just tried to transfer a small amount of my existing balance from A-B and it went through.
All had different bank accounts. Used to transfer different amounts. |

Still, I mean is it against TOS to transfer money between a household family member? I would call and see if maybe they can reinstate/explain.

This proves that the urban legend that A-B-C-A is fool proof. At the end of the day whether you do A-B-C-A OR A-B and vice versa is no difference in terms of being suspended.
Did you miss the part where all three had the same SSN? My understanding of A-B-C-A is people who are doing that are not using accounts with the same SSN. Guess I was unaware of how people were using multiple accounts - I thought it was just to increase volume (i.e. multiple A-B-C-A circles), not to send money to yourself... |
Do not send $1k full payments.

If you're using GCs leave yourself more than $0.50 on each GC and you can still liquidate the remaining amount by sending yourself Amazon eGCs worth the balance. |
Just did a search and nothing came up on using a LaQuinta First Bankcard .

If your account gets closed, how long should you wait before opening another one? And is it safe to open another one using the same info as the one that was suspended?

Seems Amz is slowly but surely cracking down. In the past Amz simply didn't care. Then shutdowns started with a few doing A-B-A transfers. Then few shutdowns tracked thru using same IP address, now starting to shut people with multi accts.
There are 2 things that will kill the Amz deals Once Amz decides to to install simple software to track all the above then it will be game over. And 2) if they start enforcing the transfers with a fee (such as paypal) which was their original intent when they first started this anyway. The abuse of the system may finally trigger them to implement either or both of the above. I think if we all play by the rules as Amz intending then we should have no problems using them for a long time. |
Best word of advice? NEVER send from one SSN to the same SSN.
Be unique. SSN 1 to SSN 2 SSN 2 to SSN 3 SSN 3 to SSN 1 They shut be down on a SSN 1 to SSN 1 payment. |
I have thus far refused to use AP so I have no experience with it, but... Why must SSN 3 send it back to SSN 1, completing a very suspicious looking circle? I would think there would be plenty of alternatives for Mr. SSN3 to move "his" money elsewhere. Like maybe some account that isn't necessarily in his name.

More risk, but more reward. ^ |
