I haven't done MS in the past, because I haven't needed to. But now I need to do some. I've spent a few hours reading through a lot of this thread (and a few others), and am wondering how safe I am with doing just simple transfers of $1K per month from me to my wife.
Different last names Different addresses Different CCs Different Banks Different IP Addresses Would only be transfering one-way from me to her. Based on what I'm seeing, this should be pretty safe, correct? |
It's cracking down...
Greetings from Amazon Payments. We are writing because it has come to our attention that you have opened multiple accounts. Amazon WebPay has a combined sending and receiving limit of $1000 per month per user. Multiple accounts opened to potentially enhance this limit will be closed. It has come to our notice that your account still hold balance $x.xx. We request you to withdraw the balance All pending transactions have been canceled and once your balance becomes zero, your Amazon Payments accounts will be closed. We appreciate your compliance with this matter and thank you for your interest in Amazon Payments. Sincerely, Account Specialist Amazon Payments |

Stats for the curious: two SSN's, two bank accounts, two credit cards, one address, same last name. Any advice for speeding up getting money out of a suspended account would be helpful. |

Got the same message today, unfortunately they didn't give me the option of withdrawing the money from the second account before suspending it :(. So now I'm off to fight to get my money out.

If you're doing other shady stuff... it probably doesn't help you. |

Why would they say you have multiple accounts if its registered to two different people?
Particularly, if the accounts were sending money back and forth. |

This is strange. I had 3 accounts under my SSN and noticed that my third got suspended. I used to do A-B-C-A for about 2 months or so. I noticed the suspension when I tried to do C-A and it said such features have been disabled. Also I did not get an email. Just tried to transfer a small amount of my existing balance from A-B and it went through.
All had different bank accounts. Used to transfer different amounts. |
First account opened probably a year ago, not related to MS. Opened second account two months ago specifically to start MS - I may have even asked a question in this thread about it. First month A -> B only. Second month again did A -> B, but added a $218 B -> A transfer just to zero out a specific card.
As for the money stuck in A, sent an email yesterday morning and got no response. This morning I called and was told that the rep could see my email and since it had been 24 hours with no response she would escalate. So now waiting another 48 business hours to see what comes of it. Thank goodness it's nothing I can't float easily! Another question - AP still only blocks you by email address correct? I can set up new accounts in a few weeks once I get my money back and try to stay under the radar this time? |

I employ other practices like others of using 1 phone (wifi turned off) to send money, and then any other computer/phone/work network to offload to bank account. But I never log into A account with anything but that one phone on a mobile network. |
