The AF doesn't matter, it's the spend needed for the South West cards. It's only $138 AF, and I will meet the min spend for the 50k points no problem. It's just the $10k spend for the companion pass that takes longer. This AP account would have given me another $3k ($4k on another AP with the business card, plus $3k regular spend, and I'm there). I'd rather not have to use UR points to finish this off (through Hyatt).
If the card is still in Person A's account with Person B's name I think I'll delete it in Amazon (not AP) then give it a few days before adding it into AP on Person A's account with their name. |

Use this thread to investigate other ways to hit that $10k spend. Many do it within days. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...tart-here.html

I know, and there is a reason that I don't use most of those techniques. Not everyone's location and life are amenable to those methods, most of which require being able to physically visit particular stores. I don't have a simple way to liquidate gift cards which nullifies a huge chunk of MS, and I don't have much billpay (no mortgage or student loans) that can be leveraged.

Fair enough. And since you actually did research - Here's a tip. If you haven't already, sign up for Serve with Isis. $1500/month online credit card load for free. If you don't have a compatible phone, it's still $1000/month.

Yes, I should get it set up. Can't use Isis unfortunately, and I have bluebird, so would need to go through the switching process (used to take a month, have not checked recently). I like bluebird having checks, but I guess I'll have to sacrifice that.

MStery solved. Jeffe found a duplicate account long abandoned and not used for over a year. So he put a hit on the account currently in use which had been sending and receiving payments. The old account is still active and is now sending and receiving payments.
And the jungle warfare continues...:p

Sending
I have about 9 $100 of prepaid Visa gift cards I'd like to liquidate when my Serve plan at Walmart went south so I was looking at Amazon Payments. I can set up an Amazon Payments account for both me and my wife (different names) and only send the money that direction. From what I can read, need to make sure they are different accounts with different IP addresses (I can be careful about that) and no shared bank accounts/credit cards.
But will 9 repeated transactions of ~$100 off of Visa prepaid cards by itself trigger any flags? I assume 1 payment of $900 would not raise any flags but I don't know if 9 separate identical transactions is cause for any concern. Has anyone done this or experienced negative effects from this? |

Dont use AP for 100$ gift cards. You can use Evolve to pay some of your utility/other bills.

but of course, there are no 100% guarantees in MS ;) |
+1^
Seeing a bunch of $100 AGC critters seems to give Jeffe indigestion. We know Jeffe knows AGCs are not credit cards from the days of the mint. You might get away with one or two, but chances are blow darts will start flying.

as far as the rules go, you are allowed to send and receive a total of $1K per calendar month per account. So I don't see why 9 x $100 payments via PPGCs will raise an alert but to be on the safe side, you can do 2 per day for 3 days and 3 on the 4th day.

Switching out payment methods 9 times in a month is beyond suspicious. Sorry but rules don't apply here. Amazon has the right to suspend accounts due to suspicion of fraud.

Simple question here. If I have an AP business account and want to send $1000 or so to wife by charging a CC (might as well), does she need an AP account to receive or cashout to her bank account? I don't even do MS, just trying to send some money to cover our spending.
