Am I able to use my Citi Executive on Amazon Payments to accrue spend for bonus? I had hit the minimum spend using $1k on AP and received this msg from Citi:
Dear xxxx, Thank you for using our Secure Messaging Center. Your purchases of 2 Amazon payments of $500.00 do not qualify as purchases towards the promotional offer you are enrolled in at this time. |

Currently I send a>b where a is my own credentials. B is my brothers and I use his cc to send b>c. C is my mother's. All diff addresses and ip. Can I use c back to a but using a credit card in my own name? Note this is not a card I have used on accounts a or b.

I used my new AACiti card and got this on the transaction 08-07-2014
BUSINESS SERVICES,NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSED Quite different posting than the last time I used AP on my Citi Thank You Rewards card. |

I've been to doing A <-> B for awhile, we have last name (dad) but different address/checking/etc. Just realized his address is on my profile because it was tied to my amazon.com account, thus leaking into amazon payments. Didn't seem like an issue before but now I'm more weary of logging in with amazon.com over there or even adding the address back in to ship things..
With only two accounts, just do one payment in one direction. Good luck! |

If C is your mother, I'm not sure how she can use a CC in your name to send money to you. Sounds like asking for a shutdown, if you ask me.

A=> B
Just wondering how joint accounts work. If I send $$ to my son from acct A to B, and I am also listed on the B account, is that a problem? Would amazon have any way of knowing that I am also on that acct?

BUSINESS SERVICES,NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSED Quite different posting than the last time I used AP on my Citi Thank You Rewards card. The AP transaction was what put me over the minimum spend. My statement comes out on the 11th and the balance is paid off, so I'll let you know if the change in the way they post AP caused any issues with my miles posting. |
Wow.... some of you are making this MUCH more difficult than it needs to be.
Many of us, myself included, have been doing A-B for years with no issues. Two people, same last name, different bank accounts...full $1K each way every time. We're talking about Amazon here...one of the largest online retailers and a very well-run company with lots of IT talent. Do you honestly think changing the IP addresses you use and altering the amounts to under $1K hides anything from them? If they wanted to, they could very easily look at accounts and determine who is using it for MS. I just went back and looked at my records. My first $1K transfer was in Feb., 2011. I've done full $1K each way since then...with maybe a month or two missed here or there. So either I am just lucky or Amazon doesn't really care. If you want to do A-B-C-D-E-Grandma-Uncle Joey-A....by all means, knock yourself out. But don't kid yourself into thinking you are outsmarting them with this tactic. If anything, I'd argue this looks more suspicious and brings more attention to your account. Eventually this will dry up anyway...so why make it more difficult than it needs to be? |

Adam does 1000 goods and services
Baker does 934.24 goods and services These were real spending, not manufactured. Baker bought something for 934.24, obviously. What Adam bought could have been 1000, but it also could have been ANY NUMBER OVER 1000. He would have to pay the remainder some other way, due to a decision that all of America is subject to, that was not made by Adam, it was made by Amazon. Therefore, even if noone in America did MS, Amazon would see way way more 1000s than any other number. Commerce isn't really that hard to understand, folks. |
