1. Our inbound MH140 arrived 39 minutes earlier. Touched down at 3:05 and arrived at gate at 3:11. Bunch of connection J pax went to the lounge, and it was shut. CIP was also closed. Shouldn’t they make their lounge 24 hrs while the one at satellite terminal was closed for renovation?
2. My wife and I went back to satellite and checkin to Plaza Premium lounge, thx to my credit card. However been told shower was not open. If they had shower, I wouldn’t even bother to go back, would just wait CX lounge to open.
3. Went back to regional terminal and arrived at gate at 4:58, still not open and we saw few people waiting outside already. At 5am, the lady tried to open the door, however the sliding door was stuck..... We people standing outside need to help in order to open the lounge.
4. Shower room was really small, and there was not enough shower room. I can hear people kept trying to open my locked door, all of them speaking local language so I guess it might be the staff trying to check if any shower room available for guests. Shouldn’t they just know someone’s in there?
5. Nap area really small, and next to buffet tables and entrance to toilets, The most noisy area in the lounge, who came up with this stupid idea of letting pax sleeping here.
6. Food selection alright for breakfast.
Overall it it is a good J lounge, especially being in the regional side where most pax are short hauls. I would be happy to be here for one hour or max 2 hours. Any longer, I do miss the F lounge at satellite.

Plaza Premium guys sent me to to their Wellness Spa (same level/far end of the finger that has the CX lounge), for a shower a couple of days back. I wouldn’t bother with the PP lounge normally given the massive queue at entrance, but it was quiet that day, so went there instead of bothering to take the train to the Regional lounge.

At the F checkin at KLIA today I asked about the main lounge opening plans, not sure if he made the answer up on the spot but he said “end of March”.

On the other hand, I am curious, with the current roped off area of the Regional lounge, do you have to ask the staff there for champagne/wines to get the better ones? I am asking because initially I just got my own champagne and later when I was asked if I wanted a refill, it seems like the refilled champagne was much better in taste.
Cheers!

hmm... I asked my escort about the opening of the new lounge and she said even if it was late, she was quite sure it will be before Chinese New Year, so I guess we just have to see when it does open (which I do hope it will be before Chinese New Year when I will be back in Malaysia to complete my current open ticket with Qatar back to Europe). I did bring up the topic of why did they even bothered to renovate and it seems that the main reason was that there were lots of customers complaining about the wear and tear of the lounge which I found surprising as I always find it perfect and secondly to improve on the design, to make it more contemporary which I actually did not find the previous one "old-fashion".

Someone I know from the travel press was an invited guest of MH on the launch flight LHR-KUL of the A350. She was invited to a Q&A afterwards in KUL and someone enquired as to the lounge re-openings. The official from MH said 'Fenruary', Whether this means FEB 1st or 28th is anyones guess.

A few weeks ago I was denied access to the roped off area (only F pax and MH Plat).. No skin of my back as it does not add anything to the experience. last weekend I was flying MH to SIN and sat in the regular area, had Prosecco from the bar and the staff kept it refilled. Plates were promptly taken away and service was great. And then I was asked to complete a feedback form.

Shower room was boiling hot and a cold shower did not really help, same problem with people trying to gain access whilst in shower.
Service is excellent with top ups offered and plates cleared away quickly. Food etc is OK for a J lounge. I was told February opening by the door assistants. Just hope the F lounge is open by the beginning of April when I next have to use KUL.

I am here now writing this, I as a BAEC emerald flying MAS J was granted access to the roped off area after I told them that OW Emerald was MAS platinum status, To be honest I think the girl just let me in as there was 1 other person in there and she did have a resigned look on her face!.

as I said, and as you experienced, not much special there and I hope the new lounge will open by the time I fly next. It was for sure not worth to argue about it.

Same experience here - BA OWE in J Class, no access. But there does not seem much difference. Regional lounge is definitely way above the replacement lounge they offer in the satellite, which reminded me of a glorified waiting room.

Stayed there for 2 minutes and then went and sat in the snug bar area as it is a far more pleasant atmosphere.
OWE is not the same as MH Platinum as you suggest.
