I was expecting the worst when I aimed for the lounge last week, however I was unexpectedly surprised.
The welcome was lovely except that initially they would not let me sit in the First section despite being Emerald with BA. They happily checked with the supervisor who turned up and apologised and said of course i was allowed in to that area.
The First area seats are a bit larger, it was quieter and there was individual service from the delightful staff.
The food selection was excellent and the freshly made panini selection and noodle bar good.
I had no issue with the g and t or wine.
It was considerably better than my on board experience, posted elsewhere.

I'm currently sitting in the disappointing CIP Lounge. Busy, drab and dingy, no alcohol on view, meaning you have to ask for it and when a glass of Shiraz did arrive it came in a plastic glass. Even the coffee is in paper cups. Food choice also limited, self-served on paper plates of course.
I appreciate this is temporary but a better effort should have been made. Had I read this thread beforehand I would have gone to the regional lounge. So many passengers walked into the lounge, took one look and walked straight out again. This included first class passengers.
The lack of toilet facilities inside the lounge is a problem, as those outside are disgusting. The first two I tried had squat toilets and one of the three WCs out of service. The third was just filthy and smelly.
Not what I've come to expect from an airline I use quite regularly.

Likely just a case of misinformed staff who thought it’s only for First/Platinum pax.

The F space is indeed reserved only for MH Elites and F pax. The times non MHOWE have gotten in is likely a mistake

I'm in that corner right now. MH J bp/OWE. The attendant asked for the bp as I strolled up, and I showed that along with my (CX) card and just said 'Emerald'. "Please enjoy".

No issues parking myself in the F corner with my OWE. Food's decent. Beverage- the alcoholic kind- more of the same, but with a much more cheerful bartender than I'd gotten used to in the Satellite J (I'd park myself at the bar there for a drink or two before or after dining).
I've been to way more oneworld/designated lounges that are worse than this one, than better ones.

Wondering if the domestic lounge has finally re-opened?
MH website only mentions the temporary closure of the satellite lounge.. nothing about the domestic lounge. However I realize I should probably not jump to conclusions even though the planned re-opening of the domestic lounge was told to be late November?

Pleasantly surprised, too.

All that said, I'm hoping that the satellite F lounge will open soon..

A month ago, there was champagne (Comte Audoin de Dampierre) at the bar but it's gone now. Only that Aust. sparkling wine.

Currently in the regional lounge. Denied access to the first class seating area and denied the champagne at the bar, even though I am OW Emerald. Kind of crappy as I had no limits with the first class lounge. :/
Update, I’ve had a talk with the lounge manager and he assured me that the staff were incorrect and that I could have the champagne if I liked...

Did not ask for champagne but it is not the first time I see a post where an issue got resolved after the lounge manager got involved. It does give a feeling staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing.
