You
But it's from your part of the world
Was going to email them earlier but too jet lagged .
Now likely too swamped with requests
Don't recall type of aircraft mentioned . Don't really take to small planes no matter how comfortable . Am more 747 or at least , 777 .
Pulo & Wana flights were just manageable .
P . S .
The last time I was in ASP , it was over Easter / April Fools when Mark S was GM . It was rather cold , below 10 C & think like 0 C overnight

nothing 'new' - more Remote Lands trips, there were multiple discussions here when prior trips announced
seems the first trip was announced a month after doronin acquired
cant figure it out though, may have been delayed from 2014 to 2015
this kind of thing is more for marketing, but it would really be nice if there were trips combining nearby properties (or flying HKG > pulo) with inexpensive planes, for the benefit of general aviation airports/terminals

edit - if there is ever another forum meetup at an aman near other amans, perhaps some could split inexpensive charter between amans

Additional works at the Amanzoe Beach Club have been completed. These include new children's pool, additional lunching areas, new reception building, gym, spa, etc. So the Beach Club is now becoming a new satellite hotel for the main facility.

Another GM shift to report: I'm currently enjoying a few days at Amantaka, and was surprised to find out upon arrival that Gary Tyson has left Aman. New GM at Amantaka is Livio Ranza, formerly Amanwana.
Gary is apparently working on another hotel project in Luang Prabang (Zecha seems to be involved here too).

Cheapest Jet type
BKK CXR 22600
CXR-LPQ 29400
LPQ-REP 23000
REP-MNL 41000
MNL-HND 68600
Total= 127000
G200 (as advertized)
BKK-CXR 31300
CXR-LPQ 36600
LPQ-REP 28200
REP-MNL 49000
MNL-HND 92300
Total= 237400
Presumably one could do a bit better on pricing by working directly with a charter coupon... But for arguments sake it's $237,400/8 passengers for the G200=29,675 per person... that leaves $58888-29675= $29213 for everything else....

inexpensive = (twin) turboprop
and maybe very light jet, but there are only two
not sure re which light jets run the least
whenever one way costs same as round trip, makes sense to do round trip

I also heard that the long-time staff at Amanpuri are looking for new jobs since Fred Varnier was fired. Allegedly, he was given 1 day to leave, after being there for 21 years. Whatever you thought of Fred, this is no way to treat anybody.

The security escort was reserved for Adrian Zecha and his staff in Singapore.

20% reduction after spending how much on london, new york, sales offices (all external) ?
20% of staff or staff budget ; corporate ; management vs non-management ; most senior / longtime ?
in another thread >
has any potential good news been reduced to 'good news - the news is not as bad as it could have been' ?

Hmmm I don't like the sound of all these staff reductions....
In other news; I think this picture depicts the view of the Ritz from Amandari.

I recently stayed at a resort where the GM had come there from years with different Amans. Speaking with him at great length, it confirmed what others here are posting that GMs are leaving/being forced out and Aman is losing its soul. This man had a very high regard for Mr. Zecha whom he said was like a father/uncle to many of the staff at the various resorts and he didn't have high hopes for Amans future.

Sounds as though there will be more. I just heard that the new Aman Regime have cut salaries for the newly hired GMs (which explains why they appear to be hiring middle-ranking people) and are looking at a 20% reduction in Aman staff.
I also heard that the long-time staff at Amanpuri are looking for new jobs since Fred Varnier was fired. Allegedly, he was given 1 day to leave, after being there for 21 years. Whatever you thought of Fred, this is no way to treat anybody.

Even Gary T told me that he would be around in the " foreseeable " future just last month !!
Very poor of whoever allowed the manner in which these have been carried out , actually lack thereof . Reflects very poorly on them . Worrying .
Not Aman ethos .
Obviously , Amanjunkies will not be appreciated going forward
( unless of the same ilk )
Kage , it is not good news . Can ' t recall where I may have posted before .
Need for prayers for all involved , that reason will prevail & with at least a modicum of courtesy / etiquette
But some new ones like Christina D are appreciated .
Other comments are likely not permitted on FT .
