Sounds as though there will be more. I just heard that the new Aman Regime have cut salaries for the newly hired GMs (which explains why they appear to be hiring middle-ranking people) and are looking at a 20% reduction in Aman staff.
I also heard that the long-time staff at Amanpuri are looking for new jobs since Fred Varnier was fired. Allegedly, he was given 1 day to leave, after being there for 21 years. Whatever you thought of Fred, this is no way to treat anybody.

Even in a socialist country like france, manager position are often not allowed to work during their notice and often asked to leave on the spot. (But they are paid)

Assuming most of the GM departures were forced, I would be curious to understand the reasons behind? Especially given the quite central role of the GMs in the Aman model.
In most typical takeover cases, the new owners would try to retain key managers in order to ensure some continuity. Unless, the new owners view the acquired company as a restructuring/turnaround. So that's maybe exactly how they see it.
Is there any public data around the historic economic viability/sucess of Aman? Maybe the new owners feel that things like a high staff-to-guest ratio, low density, little advertising etc. stand in the way of generating a good return on investments [while they unfortunately destroy the fabric of the brand as a sort of collateral damage]?

i have posted a lot of (old) financial data kamel123
no, not all fired, its the ownership change with zecha out
doronin is really the sole owner
theyre not adding rooms, but have said theyre increasing occupancy
and doronin is in property, so probably more residences, less remote
maybe there is hope for occasional property in ('pre-tourism?') areas

Looking at an Aman beachside long weekend in mid November somewhere in SE Asia.
Want to keep it at the lower end of Aman prices which rules out Amanpuri/Amanpolo on the dates I am looking at.
Best options for those dates seem to be Amanoi or Amankila.
Amanoi obviously harder to get to but likely better weather than Bali in November.
Any comments/suggestions on pros/cons given the above?

It is not recommended to swim in Bali waters .
How often might you be returning to Vietnam & Bali ?
Both different / unique .
N'oi has a spa while Kila doesn't .
As you say , possibly N'oi better weather then .
Both entail a drive from the airport with N'oi being slightly longer but having more varied spectacular scenery .
Love the Kila pools but N'oi has 2 with great views too ..
If you can wing it , go stay at both , stretching it if Deepavali long weekend . Sorry , may not have helped !

Thanks @FlyerEC. I live in Singapore so getting to Vietnam and Bali is easy. Leaning towards N'oi which leaves Kila for another time!

I wouldn't rule out Amanpuri that easy. Mid-November is still low-season price at Puri - good weather too. Easy enough to get to. Plus if you're looking at THIS November, this should be when they still have their '4th night free' deal on.
