It looks [as per the image provided in the article] like that MO took over management of the former Grand Hyatt Santiago.

i dont think MO NY reputation has changed much; has hard product, pool, spa, location, view .
almost no NY hotels have been consistently good here, many cities/places are similarly tough
hyatt recently acquired miraval, travaasa austin, cranwell
unfortunately expanding miraval, probably not top luxury
accor acquired onefinestay (airbnb acquired luxury retreats)

FS Downtown is not really discussed here, but they seem to get it right for NY standards.

aman is 79 rooms with pool, rooms may be like tokyo
mark, lowell, and another have been consistent here

Just looked at the menu, which is better than I imagined. Although the design of this spa is a nightmare. Upscale airline lounge meets Dame Zaha Hadid. Too many lines, it seems unsettled and over branded. Don't know which kids club they stole the pillows from and these computer generated mountain images as a backdrop... please not! Might pay a visit once they are in operation to see.
