anyone heard any updates re these and many others ?
Not sure about the Reseve Molasses Teef in Caicos, but the RC is opening up a regular RC in the Turks and Caicos. Not sure if this a separate project entirely or if this is a way for RC to get into the Turks if the Molasses Reef property is dead.

Since we're in the Caribbean, is the FS Barbados project still dead? I've read a few months ago that the government was working on it.

Wasn't the Dellis Cay property put on the market?

Thanks Kagehitokiri, that's good to know.

Has anyone here on FT stayed at Desert Palm?

Any info why Minor dropped these two?

Thanks in advance, more insights would be warmly welcomed and appreciated.

Fascinating indeed, one to watch...

How the Niccolo brand plans to take on heavy hitters in Hong Kong’s luxury hotel market

The hotel line is now set to compete locally with iconic home-grown brands such as The Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental, according to Wharf Hotel president Dr Jennifer Cronin.
The first Niccolo property in Hong Kong later this year will be The Murray, a 336-room five-star hotel in Central, which will be converted from colonial-era government house Murray Building.

Cronin said each room of The Murray will cost about HK$4,000 per night. The landmark Peninsula hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui costs at least HK$3,780 a night while the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Central charges a minimum of HK$3,800 a night, according to their websites.

Greetings all,

Any insight into the Ritz in Bali, particularly as it relates to families? Looks like it is very family-friendly for two 10-year olds. Also happy to take advice on other Nusa Dua family-friendly luxury properties (or move to Travel with Children thread).

Thanks,
Mike

Seems as though the Viceroy on the Palm is temporarily closed due to a dispute. Sounds very Miami to me!
Dispute update:

Dubai Hotel Owner Sues Viceroy Alleging Mismanagement and Fraud

“Investigations by two respected accounting firms into the operations of the hotel have revealed fraudulent accountings, breach of trust, self-dealing, doctored invoices, phony budgets, unapproved budget overruns, and concealment of mismanagement by Viceroy Dubai,” Five Holdings said in the complaint.
In June the owner canceled the contract with Viceroy and the name of the resort was changed from the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai to the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai.

That’s when the real mischief started, according to the complaint. Viceroy allegedly told dozens of travel agencies that it was deemed by a Dubai court to be the rightful manager of the hotel and that they could be fined or imprisoned if they booked rooms at the resort.

Aman sells 51% of company

Big rumour right now that Vladislav Doronin sold 51% of Aman two weeks ago. Nobody knows who bought the shares as yet, but it is a controlling interest. Someone with expertise in city hotels, maybe?

There's more:

Viceroy denies allegations of new lawsuit by Five Holding

Kabir Mulchandani the chief executive of Five Holdings filed a lawsuit against Viceroy Hotel Group in Los Angeles on September 7, 2017.

The lawsuit cites a consultant report dated in August to justify the wrongful ouster of Viceroy as the manager of the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Hotel two months earlier.

Viceroy has explicitly denied the allegations in the lawsuit and the consultant report, and has revealed that it is confident the legal process will demonstrate the falsity of both.
Viceroy and its management honoured the terms of the hotel management contract with Mulchandani and his group at all times, including the time leading up to their expulsion from the property on June 19, 2017.

Three days later the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts reinstated Viceroy as manager of the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah in Dubai without further notice and Mulchandani and his group remain subject to that comprehensive injunction.
