the correct top 10 would include multiple hotels in paris
many oceanfront missing, most obvious is cala di volpe
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/luxur...zia-italy.html - has 184 rooms

Paris might be somewhat "softer" lately. Cheers & Safe Travels. ^

Maybe, but like Kagehitokiri said, I doubt this list is correct. First you must consider dates and check more or less every day. So very difficult. I never saw a correct list before, you always find at least one fault.

This is totally correct. I found this list to be completely useless since it considers "the cheapest available rate" -- would make much more sense to use ADR, as this is an indication the industry actually uses. Also RevPAR would be interesting on a different level. CPP Luxe is good for some chatter or news, but hardly a clear indication for anything.

1 villa feltrinelli is E1546 (21 rooms) doesnt book online which is also the case for some others as well
2 cala di volpe is E1360 at the end of august, which is after peak season of earlier in aug/jul, always more than Pitrizza (#8), always most expensive
3 is there any chance eden roc (basically sold out online) is not E1250+? calendar shows that rate for early september (after peak season)
their use of BAR is not the problem. the problem is lack of accuracy - 'ten of the most' would be accurate but media doesnt care about accuracy they care about 'soundbites' or whatever it is called now ('search engine optimization' ?) and CPP is quoting someone else (who is basically doing PR and advertising their booking website, which looks... less than impressive, presumably relatively new taking advantage of url they were able to get. ah, looking back it is similar for their 2013 most expensive properties, and 2015 most expensive hotels - both are missing some 'obvious' properties/hotels. its just press releases.)
paris may not be as high as it was when several hotels were closed
wonder if FS dropped rates some at grand hotel du cap ferrat

This could be most fascinating when it becomes reality...
Old War Office in London may become Raffles hotel

We shouldn't forget that the Raffles brand was for a short time present already before in London in the late 1990's/early 2000's...

Old War Office in London may become Raffles hotel
Is Raffles set to make its London debut? It certainly appears that way.
The historic Old War Office, once the center of operations for Winston Churchill during World War II and owned for years by the UK’s Ministry of Defence, was purchased nearly two years ago by Obrascon Huarte Lain Desarrollos in a joint venture with the Hinduja Group for £350 million. The deal was finalized in March of this year, and the property is expected to be converted into a luxury hotel and 50 branded residences—but no brand has officially been named yet.

Brown's Hotel, London : The hotel came under the management of Rocco Forte on 3 July 2003, having once been managed by Raffles International Hotels. During 2004–2005 the hotel underwent a £24 million refurbishment and re-opened in December 2005.

New luxury hotel announced for Hong Kong
Niccolo Hotels, a luxury hotel brand from Marco Polo Hotels, will launch its flagship Hong Kong property in October 2017.
The Murray, a Niccolo Hotel will offer 336 guestrooms and suites across 27 floors, high-end wellness facilities, four yet-to-be announced restaurants located on the first three floors, plus a large rooftop bar offering views over the city.
Meeting facilities will include The Niccolo Room, suitable for a banquet setting of up to 240 or reception for 350, plus six smaller meeting rooms.
The hotel will breathe new life into an iconic building perched on Cotton Tree Drive.
Originally built in 1969, the tall, white landmark has distinctive arches and unique recessed windows that protect the interior from direct sunlight – garnering a number of awards for its innovative energy-efficient design.
Renowned architect firm Fosters & Partners has been tasked with revamping the architectural details and interior design for its new life as a luxury hotel.
Duncan Palmer, the managing director of the hotel, said: “I am quite confident this will become the preferred hotel in Hong Kong for visiting dignitaries, captains of industry and leaders in style. They will appreciate the sophisticated and international standard of hospitality that the Niccolo brand delivers.”
The first Niccolo-branded property opened in Chengdu in April 2015.

It's good to learn that Rocco Forte Hotels plans to grow further over the next years incl. a 2nd property in Rome, of note is that this particular property was the former InterContinental De La Ville before it closed. The hotel will re-emerge as a much smaller hotel we learned from 192 room/suites to 105 rooms/suites. Sounds promising and it's "only" half a mile from the existing Rocco Forte de Russie hotel. The Hotel De La Ville is due to open by the end of 2018. Rocco Forte Hotels plan to double their hotel portfolio from 10 properties as of now to 20 properties over the next five years incl. new openings in Jeddah and Shanghai ahead of us.
