Quito at the start. Guayaquil at the end. It's a relatively short trip from Los Angeles, so I didn't feel the need to add another substantive stop to justify travel time.

1) Skiing Park City two times in January, but both non-lux. One at Grand Summit and the second at the Marriott Summit Watch

2) April 1-7 - I'll be traveling to Milan and then onwards from Genoa to Barcelona on the new Silverseas Muse. The cruise will be another pre-maiden voyage

SanDiego1K - The Origon looks outstanding for the Galapagos, not the prettiest vessel I've ever seen, but practical and v.comfortable. Hope it delivers on its promises. Have a great trip with all those iguanas and penguins.

The Origon looks good. We thought about that as well as the M/V Evolution but opted for a land based stays with day trips because two of the three of us gets seasick pretty easy.

4 nights at Le Meurice in February. Haven't seen much written about this property outside of DavidO's (very positive) reports, so looking forward to it.

We've booked a Superior Junior Suite on a very attractive promotion.

Rome is difficult. It all depends on what you want to do there. The newly refurbed Eden will not be open by then. I think the Palazzo Manfredi looks good, with the best view of the Colosseum since Commodus sat in the royal box and a fab rooftop restaurant. The hotels near the Borghese/Vatican/shopping don't interest me as I visit Rome for the antiquities.

Personally I would avoid Turkey right now and I don't normally pay that much attention to security issues apart from obvious places like Iraq and Afghanistan. I just don't think the climate is right in Turkey just now. I think it's a country seriously on edge with soldiers everywhere. Of course you can always lock yourself away in that Aman or the MO . . . However, if you insist on Turkey, try and see the Roman site of Aphrodisias . . . it's almost in the same league as Leptis Magna. You can do it in a day-trip from Kusadasi via the superb Roman theatre at Nysa.

As for me, I'm currently working on Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Of course, the Four Seasons Baku is the main goal here!

We are visiting Georgia and Armenia this year. The hotel situation looks much better than when we visited Uzbekistan in 2015, a fantastic trip despite subpar hotels. And we had a wonderful visit to Kiev a few years back. Enjoy!

Curious about your plan for UA. I was born in Kiev, so feel free to PM with any questions about the city.

Excellent. In Yerevan, the Marriott is smack dab in the city center (Republic Square) and does the job - it's a "Grand Dame" by Caucasus regional standards. You can get a decent suite for a super cheap rate. There is so much to see and do in Yerevan (and nearby), both in terms of historic monuments/churches as well as ruins.

Kiev is similarly an awesome place to check out. Have fun!
