Todays LH-seat:

Code:

Matthias B., Manager Aircraft Delivery.
Michael L., FRA CI/P
That clarifies the livery.

B747-8 in full Lufthansa livery.

These photos were from the PAINEAIRPORT.COM
Isn't she a beauty, the LH livery looks very sleek on the 747-8, much better than the A380

New F

I assume this bird is fitted with the new F product being based in FRA? Are those both good assumptions?

What about delivery time, routes, etc... Any ideas, insider info?

All I can says "WOW!!!" she's so gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see it. LH will put first revenue flight FRA-DEN or IAH. I am looking forward to it. I bet lots of those customers are very excited to flying on 748I.

No way... IAH? I've got an F flight coming up in November (FRA-IAH). Could I be lucky enough to be on that pretty thing?

I agree. The A380 is technically a great achievement, and an impressive machine. But it's way too ugly...

But I still enjoy seeing a 747 taking off or landing. ^

It will have new F (rumour: in nose) and more important new C.

Delivery is expected in Q2 of 2012. There is no info on routes but I think they will just switch them around on the current 3 class 747 routes ex FRA.

No 747 ex MUC but as I have stated before, I see them there in a few years when they will have to make the decision to either add a flight or get a larger aircraft type (when the A346 will be not enough capacity on certain routes)

Delivery is expected in Q1 of 2012.
8 F seats in the nose section (3 on each side and a pair of seats in the middle)

Here are a couple of posts to confirm the above.

New version of the A380 F, individual pods on the windows, one two seater in the middle, all F in the nose.

No great F lavatory, its just one at the existing location near door 1, and its the standard Boeing lavatory. So the ratio of lavatories to F pax will go significantly down (for those who care about such finer points)

The plane in the picture will be released to LH in April 2012 when the testing program is over and no refits are expected. I would guess they will get it in May/June for sure.

The 748i will be used in the high density markets to lift enormous amounts of C/Y pax. So think ORD, NYC, India. From what I saw its not a jaw dropping new aircraft, just a 747 with a very good update (777 interiors, lots of LED) The Y seat will be the one currently coming into the 744 this summer. And of course the new C.

Indeed, the 747 is a really 'sexy' aircraft... The 747-8 looks great. Thanks for the 'fresh' pic.
