To my recollection most airlines flying 747's have F in the nose.

I humbly agree that F on 747 is better in the nose.
Much quieter , no walk through , lavatory's in galley behind ( great for FA's ), sturdier floor ( no sea sickness ) .

Looking at the nose of the plane in this photo from yesterday's roll-out, it looks like some F passengers are going to have fantastic views out of the window. ^

Here are more photos including some of the interior.

Any interior shots of the Lufthansa 748?
The aircraft that rolled off the line yesterday with all the fanfare is not meant for LH. It will be delivered to a private owner in the gulf after use as a test aircraft. The second aircraft (mentioned in the previous reports) will also be a test bed first and then handed to LH in about a year.

In one of the videos shown during the webcast there was a glimpse of LH's 747-8i parked alongside the sheik's 747-8i. ^

A representative from LH gave a speech during the ceremony but as far as I could see no representative of the sheik was present.

LH 747-8I configuration reveal

I didn't see this on the forum so I thought I would post it;
http://www.flightglobal.com/articles...assengers.html

Lufthansa plans a 386-seat configuration of its new 747-8I when it arrives in its fleet in first quarter of 2012.

The stretched jet will be configured with eight first-class, 80 business-class and 298 economy seats.

We find things which we can do to the passengers - which are positive - and this usually does cost a couple of seats.

Discuss.

Positive to whom? The passengers or the LH bottom line?

I wonder also which routes will get this aircraft first. Any ideas?

Hopefully both. Though it cant fail to be better than the old 744's, at least for Y passengers. ^

Interesting to see that they are painting it in LH livery in the test phase.
