he only has 2 days/nights for return trip from Melbourne airport, and I haven't decided whether he should stay same place for both nights or move on.

check whether you can stay at the lighthouse at torquay, Airey's Inlet, of further down the coast, prob less expensive and great authentic experience, Anglesea is only 20 min drive from torquay

Revamped Web Site now up

The PP web site has now been updated with the new graphic design launched with the April e-newsletter and new membership cards.

cdp88 Apr 22, 2010 7:06 am

I just received my card with the new design. It only took about one month to arrive, fortunately i didn't have any voucher related bookings i needed to use it for.

But they did email me the dining discount letter and the Crowne Plaza i stayed at accepted that and gave me a discount.

morepointsplease Apr 22, 2010 7:13 am

I've lost my card and am staying at Terrigal in 2 weeks. Last time they were ok with a fax or email from PP, but I think I saw that that isn't accepted anymore. I don't know that it would get here before that if I do pay for a new card, and I don't know that we'll have the chance to use it again before expiry in September so it may not be worth paying for if it doesn't.

Does anyone know more about this and if they absolutely need the card now?

2 for 1s no longer qualify for PC points/stay credits

I suppose I am belabouring this point, given posts I have just made on two other threads, but feel it also deserves related posting here since it is both germane and central to the overall PP program. It appears that 2 for 1 stays are now affected by a major change to the PC program vis a vis such stays. My recent Melbourne IC stay just posted as a non-qualifying stay. I have sent off the following email to PP customer service and will post the official response when I get it next week:

Good day,

I am writing as an otherwise satisfied member of the Priority Privilege program who has just renewed for another year. However, I have also just returned from an otherwise pleasant stay at the Rialto in Melbourne where I used one of my PP "2 for 1" certificates. In the past, I have always received full Priority Club stay credit and points for such stays worldwide, including those in Australia using the PP certificates. But checking my PC account this morning, I discovered this recent stay in Melbourne (April 27-29) was considered a non-qualifying stay and neither stay credits nor the usual 2000 PC points (plus elite and other bonuses) were posted.

In reviewing even the new PP certificates, and other information provided with the renewal kit, no indication is given that such stays were ineligible for PC points accumulation or stay credit. In fact, the brochure goes out of its way advising us about the PC program and the points we can collect when staying in conjunction with our PP membership. So can you please clarify what the policy is in this regard, and if PC points are no longer given for such stays, when the change was made and why it was not communicated to members.

I thank you for your attention to this matter and await your reply.

Sincerely yours,

Shareholder

I would agree with you on that ;)

If all that has happened is that a 2 for 1 stay posted as a non-qualifying stay and you have had no communication confirming any change in policy then that has happened to my 2 for 1 stays a couple of times and all that has been required is filling in the online missing stay credit request or a phone call to get it fixed. I hope and expect that you will have the same outcome.

Seems I over reacted yesterday. Just noticed that today the second night of my stay posted as an eligible stay and appropriate points posted. In the past, such stays had posted jointly as a 2-night stay with the appropriate credits, but now they seem to split each night of the stay and credit each one accordingly.

My 2-4-1 stay in Melbourne has posted today as one stay, 2 qualifying nights.

Hotels will quit from PriorityPrivilege

Some hotels in China will no longer participate PriorityPrivilege Programme after 31st July 2010:

Crowne Plaza Suzhou
Crowne Plaza Changsha
Holiday Inn North Chongqing
Holiday Inn Qingdao

Not sure about ANZ region and others. But if you happen to know few it mighte be appreciated if you post the hotel name here.

And in the latest Chinese PP member kit. All the room vouchers state that no PriorityClub points would be given if member use the 2-4-1 vouchers and 25% off vouchers...

Curious that yours posted that way and mine the way it did, as a single night credit.

That's a bummer!

Yes it is. I just received my kit from IC Pudong. In every room voucher there is T & C printed in the back in both English and Chinese (which i do not read). It state that:

1>, Certificate has no cash value
2>, Paid room night is based on BFR
3>, Not qualified for Priotity Club Reward points...(the rest 7 can be ignored)

Well...

I received a telemarketing call from PP today. I asked whether I could use one of the free nights with my existing booking in September at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne. The telemarketer asked me what my current rate was and then told me it would be fine. Sadly, the reality is very different. Their current rate is $150 more than my booked rate. They should realise that telling lies just wastes everyone's time.

And they generated a new PC number for me, that I had to get killed off as well.

And they never mentioned that PC points may not be earned, as is being discussed here.

You're confusing a few things. First, the non-earning of points only relates to the Chinese program not the Australian one. Second, did you give the sales rep your rate details? They don't have access to the PC res centre so were being generically correct in answering. The BOGO rate is higher than most rates, but once averaged over two nights is still cheaper than any available rate. You should have specifically asked what the rates were for your dates and they'd have to admit they had no access to this information at the micro level you'd expected.

I think you're being very narrow-minded in your criticism of what is a very good program and one that saves many times what one spends if you take full advantage of it.
