Tried to purchase the card on-line from Europe, but the payment was not accepted. Guess because used non AUS credit card. Is therefore phone the only way to join this program?

I can now confirm that I have received my membership kit and my credit card was charged $NZ260.10 plus $AU5.99 credit card foreign exchange ripoff.
I also received the $100 Complimentary Dining Experience Voucher. A note on this though, if it hasn't already been mentioned: It is non-transferable and is not valid in conjunction with Priority Privilege membership card when dining. What this means is that for dining it really only has a value of $50. If 2 people dine and the food costs $100, using your PP card you would have only paid $50. If 2 people dine and the food cost is $200, you pay $100 cash and surrender the voucher. If instead you used your card, you would also just pay $100 cash :td: I suppose the only way to get full value from the voucher is to use it for a stand-alone alcoholic binge at the participating Hotel outlet. As the PP card discount does not apply to beverages and the certificate does as long as the outlet allows just alcohol consumption, you could get $100 value from it. Also as the PP card discount doesn't apply to breakfast when dining alone, I suppose if you had a $100 solo breakfast you could also get the full value. But all things considered I think it is a bit misleading for PP to say its worth $100- I'm glad I only paid $NZ260 to renew! |

I have neded my certificates before my kit has arrived so I phoned PP up and they faxed the certificate to me so I could use it. |
PP benefits at IC Bangkok?

Curious, I have been able by using the PP portal to find the 10% discounts on hotels all through Asia, including at Bangkok and Tokyo. Quite good Advance Purchase rates too. Haven't actually concluded the booking on any of these, but is this common occurrence? Have these rates been honoured?

three questions if anyone can help, appreciated
1) can you use in conjunction with RA upgrades etc ? 2) can it be mailed to a US address ? 3) if not, say eg sent to an Aus address, can you pay with a US amex card online? I am planning a trip to Fiji, Aus and Asia over the June/July period and plan circ 25-30 IC nights, and 5-10 CP, and looking for any avenues to mitigate cost. |

No issue with RA upgrades, I did have an issue with IC Melbourne saying no but on a review of both programs T&C's with the revenue manager he was unable to point out anywhere where it said there would be a restriction of benefits, subsequent stays have not had the issue so I think thats put to bed. On the other questions I cannot imagine there are any issues, allow time for it to come, or ask them to fax the vouchers to the hotel. Do keep an eye out for the specials, they often make those two BOGOs go a long way, this month I have had 8 free nights and still have my certs :D |
New Look debuts today
As others, received my April e-newsletter with special offers, but also revealing a new graphic look for the PP program. I'll be renewing later this month, so hope to get the new version card/kit:

Why only suites in Adelaide?
I've been looking at the PP BOGO rates at the Adelaide IC and it only comes up with suites, averaging $280 a night. This is pretty much the same as the normal Best Flex standard room rate without the BOGO. No regular room rates come up. Checking the CP and it shows in the normal fashion at half the price of the regular Best Flex rates. Is this an anomaly and standard practice for BOGOs at this property?

Not sure why it was showing up that way for you? I have just tried putting in various dates for next month and have been getting rates of about $110-$120 per night for a 2 night stay in a King Superior room using a PP BOGO. Maybe you should give it another go? What dates were you looking at?

I would say they have exhausted their normal room allocation, there would be a few of us with a BOGO booking for that weekend :)
At $200 difference a night, you can buy a lot of minibar at the Crowne PLaza which opens next week, at least one of the two properties will have it as a special BOGO no cert required in next months specials, I am guessing it will be the CP as it tries to build up business. |

And you're probably correct about the CP. I might opt for a couple of nights at each since I will likely arrive on Thursday and depart on Monday. (Will have a fresh new renewal PP kit, so lots of certs for all eventualities. RA also runs out at the end of June, so will have new BOGO coming as well.) |
I am seeing Club rooms available with the PP bogo for $175 each night Thu-Sat, or $195 SAT-MON.
