I just tried and hit the same issue. It wouldn't let me put in any card validation number.
Anyone actually manage to make this work? It would come out at around $170, well worth it! ■nicky on August 7th, 2009 3:21 pm Hi James I’ve tried a few times to sign up online and the final page after credit card says there is a problem. I finally phoned them just now and they firstly hadnt heard of it then her colleague said this had ended – is this correct? would be a real shame! thanks Nicky ■Travel Editor on August 8th, 2009 12:01 pm Have sent a note for you off to head office to get clarification, thanks for the heads up. |

I got the same error. But if you look at little nomads website the problem was reported there and apparently they are looking into it:

Hmm, just tried it and still didn't work. Are you saying you were able to sign up at the NZ$ price using the 25% discount with a non-NZ address?

Maybe it's because I'm trying to renew and not sign up as a new member. All my details are already pre-filled and all I need to do is enter expiry of cc and sec code. But it still doesn't work. Maybe I have to log out and clear the cash and then pretend to sign up as a new member but then I can't do it until end of September. Of course, I would loose my $100 dining certificate, so basically, I'll be paying for the dining certificate in full which I find quite useless anyway as it can't be combined with the dining discount. Can only be used as a gift I guess.

Little nomads discount down to 10%
I never got the 25% off discount to work to renew my membership in August. Looks like the littlenomads discount is now down to 10% only.
Does anyone know any better discounts to join or renew PP in Australia at present? |
I think I saw something on the HSBC website - you might want to look into that (and report back!)
|
just checked
http://www.homeandaway.hsbc.com/1/2/...tercontinental if you don't have access to an hsbc card I do - not sure if I can buy in someone else's name but it might be poss.. |
Wonder if they'd accept my Canadian HSBC card for the discount?
|
Thanks. That's interesting. They just sent me a card offer in the mail the other day. It's a free for life VISA card. I didn't bin it yet, so maybe it's worth taking another look if this program has other similar benefits....
|
free for life? now that is interesting - care to share any other details? reward points? interest free days? good timing for you anyway!
|
OK, sorry for the delay. Yes, the card offer says 45 days interest free, 16.95%. It also says you can earn Rewards Points for every $ spend but no more details on this. I'd hope that there is no fee to join the Rewards program. And I'm wondering whether this "home and away" part also belongs to this card. They are calling it a HSBC Classic VISA card.
I just sent the application off...will decide on it once I see all the details. |

What a pity the little nomads offer is down to 10% off! I stumbled across something trying to look for a discount for PP. I don't run a website and am hestitant to sign up for things beyond my realm, but I thought it was worth mentioning that they are trying to sell PP memberships by affiliate marketing and offering a $40 AUD kickback for each sale via a site called clixgalore. This requires signing up to be an affiliate and applying to have the link for PP on your website/emails etc. The $40 per sale is said to be paid by paypal.
This is a bit too involved for me but it may be of interest to somebody? Also, if someone could tell me how to make any replies to forums I have posted on send me a message to let me know that would be appreciated. Bit blonde obviously. ;) |
Not sure why I can't get this to work. I've missed out on the 25% discount as I thought it had something to do with me renewing too early rather than buying a new membership. Now that the offer is down to 10% and my renewal month is up I just tried again to renew with the 10% off link and the NZ hotel (I tried CHC, AKL, WLG but all the same issue). Once I enter my payment info I get the error message saying that it wasn't processed.
Can anyone tell me what the trick is to make this work? I even signed out and pretended I wanted to purchase a new membership but that didn't make a difference. I also made NZ my billing country but that didn't help either. I don't want to make my membership details NZ as I will get the card send in the mail and it doesn't sound like you all changed your address to NZ to get the NZ price. You can also PM me if you've found the way to make it work...Thanks for any help. |
