Temporary COVID-19 extension of point expiry until December 31, 2022:
"Points Expiration: Points never expire for all members with Elite status (Gold, Platinum and Spire) - a key benefit of our program. We have extended points expiry until December 31, 2022 for Club members (points normally expire after 12 months of inactivity)."
https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/cu...isory-covid-19
Check current expiration on an account without elite status
Click on "points" in the top bar when logged in, or go here after logging in: https://www.ihg.com/rewardsclub/us/e...nt-mgmt/points
Since points do not expire for elite members (those with Gold, Platinum, or Spire status), for those accounts, no expiration information will be shown on this page. In the IHG app, click your name in the corner then click “2020 track to elite status” shown below your points total. The 3rd line on that page shows the point expiration date.
IHG T&C:
How can I keep my IHG points from expiring after one year?
Various types of status or activity will reset the clock or even prevent it from running:

IHG T&C:
39. Point Expiration: Club level membership Points (see Member Benefits, including levels of membership, here) will expire if your membership account becomes inactive for any period of twelve (12) months or longer, which means your Points will be removed from your account and will no longer be available for redemption. To maintain the Points in your membership account, you must have at least one “earn” or “redeem” transaction posted to your account every twelve (12) months. Use of the one night per year provided to IHG One Rewards credit card holders does not constitute an “earn” or “redeem” activity to prevent Point expiration. Elite Members’ Points do not expire as long as Elite level membership is maintained.
How can I keep my IHG points from expiring after one year?
Various types of status or activity will reset the clock or even prevent it from running:
- Maintaining elite status (including via the credit card, if your card offers that benefit)
- Any earning activity that increases your balance (including nonqualifying or bonus points), such as transfering points from programs like e-rewards or earning dining rewards points
- Any redemption activity that decreases your balance (like redeeming 3 points for an eBook). As noted in the T&C above, this no longer includes a booking that is later canceled.

Found one. Slim pickings. I basically sorted low to high then clicked on A, B, C... Seems like 0 found all of them:

"We are experiencing some technical difficulties, please try again later."
Or
"The title you selected is temporarily not available. Please try again later or choose an alternative title. Sorry for the inconvenience. No points have been deducted from your account."
What a joke.
UPDATE:
Signed up for an opinion survey. Took about 15 minutes start to finish. 1K IHG points appeared instantly and expiration extended a year to 2018.
Better experience than the 30 minutes I wasted trying to buy an e-book.

Not sure what problems you were having but all 3 are definitely still available (the links below will redirect you to login to your IHG account - after you login you will need to click on the link below again):

Interesting. I tried the 3rd link (Demons, Dragons, Monsters and Mayhem) and got the same error. For grins I tried the 2nd link and it worked. I then tried the 3rd link a couple more times and got the same error. So seems like it may actually be unavailable or could just be a random error. Give the 2nd link a try.

Downloading didn't work over 30+ tries. Got "We are experiencing some technical difficulties, please try again later".
opinioncheckin.com worked like a charm. Got 5 points for a survey for which I did not qualify. Points posted same day in a few hours.
Also, I did this 3 days after my IHG points expired. IHG still showed my points though. After these 5 points posted, it shows a new expiry date correctly.

Except they basically have something like four mid-level properties in North America, and since they require a stay a year to keep points alive, their loyalty program requires you to micromanage to keep points alive if your usual stay pattern is alternate years in their footprint, even if you're willing to put a couple thousand euros into their businesses in those alternate years.

Just to add another data point, the Dragon book also didn't work for me, but this one did:
https://digitalrewards.ihg.com/us/eb...-first-century
It is 4 IHG points and it allowed me to purchase just fine.
Also, for those that missed it above, if you go to all books and then sort low to high and then go to the "0" (ZERO) section, it shows ALL books sorted by points. So, it should give you several low-cost options to try. Click through to download until one works and you extend your subscription for just a few points.
