I booked an awesome deal with Pointbreaks, I hope IHG keeps them coming. I'm not expecting the best properties in the best locations, but it does work for some people! Cheers!

Same here - couldn't justify paying $200+ for a hotel on Manhattan when I can effectively pay $35 and spend an hour a day commuting. If only I could book a flight out of EWR, and not JFK.. %)

Five nights at IC Costa Rica and then five nights at Miramar Panama. Great anniversary gift from IHG

Do any of the ICs on this list offer loungs access or free breakfast to IHG Platinums?

For 5000 points you're expecting free breakfast as well - try a HIX.

Clearly certain properties do offer free breakfast to Platinums.

At an IC you are lucky to get any type of upgrade in a paid night if you are plat, let alone lounge access or a free breakfast. Many do not even give that to RA's.

As IC RA I always got upgrade, club lounge and breakfast on paid stay. There is no consistency on points stay, maybe 2/3 of the time.

Since I am paying 5000pts per night paying for club would not be too bad. All stays paid or points counts toward status.

Trying to book same hotel Sept 12 for one night and showing reward availability but at the 15k point level, strange?

Not so strange.PointBreak rooms are a subset of the total number of award rooms offered, and once the PointBreaks go, the redemption rate reverts back to the normal amount.

I'm sorry, but this comment is just... Why expect a room in the first place for 5000 points? Dormitory style in one of the meeting rooms should be more adequate, don't you think? Bring your sleeping bag!

These hotels usually go for 40-50k and the hotels get the same amount of money for point breaks, as far as I know.

But no -- ICs usually don't upgrade Platinums to anything. Maybe a slightly better room. Not even Ambassadors can expect more than a one-level upgrade, if anything on award nights.

HTB.

CP Kanazawa

Booked 4 nights here. My father will be here and it's a good chance to see Kenroku-en and check out Noto Penninsula. Not to mention the nice seafood. Looking forward to it.

Anyone know anything about the HIX Dillard, GA?

It was listed on the preview list, but not on the point breaks site.

This IHG URL displays the hotel details, but I don't seem to be able to find any availability, paid or otherwise.

This HIDillard URL references the same physical address as above, but displays information about the Gateway Inn and Suites.

Anyone have any details about this property?
