I was looking at June and August. On the IHG site the resort just doesn't show at all, but does indeed on the app which is weird.

Just checking in with some Palazzo free night results.
There was award availability for Dec 27-29 (somewhere around 60,000 points/night) but I couldn't book online using my free night awards.
So I called to book them and the agent said she could only use the free night awards when properties were charging 40,000 points/night or less.
I said "ok, I noticed that Dec 20-22, it's only 25,000 points/night, can I use my free night certificates on those nights." She tried to book and couldn't.
I reminded her about what she'd just said, and also asked if she could convert them to points and then book those nights using points.
She said she couldn't, citing something along the lines of the quota on free night certs at this hotel already reached for these nights.
I asked her to check the Venetian too and it was the same results.
I've seen folks report better results with using their free night certificates at Palazzo & Venetian. Not sure if I should have employed the HUACA approach or not, but I ended up booking with points and using my free night certs (that expire at the end of the year) on hotels to/from Vegas. Costs slightly more points that way, but not enough to worry about.

Stay Report - 11/12 to 11/14
Overview: I was staying with my brother who's IHG Platinum on a points booking. The line at check in was pretty long but moved fast. There's separate desks for Royal Ambassadors (including a lounge), people with Grazie Casino Status and for Ambassador as well. When we got to the room we found the keys didn't work and the hotel waived one night's resort fee for having to walk back down and get new ones. Valet Parking worked very well though the entrance is small and can get backed up easily. There is still free self parking available at The Venetian.
Room: Good size but with some issues. There was a lot of scuffed furniture showing its age and two of the three TVs didn't work. There's also very few outlets in the room. On the plus side soundproofing is great as are the blackout curtains and the bathroom was massive. Plus Wifi worked well. There are also still mini bars which I was happy to find.
Dining: I had a meal at the Hong Kong Cafe which was pretty good. I had drinks at Bar Luca which were not good, one of my companions was brought the wrong drink twice and a waitress argued with us about it. There's a coffee shop and a Starbucks but the lines are dozens deep in the morning.
Casino: Small, but you can walk to the Venetian so it doesn't matter much.
Overall a good stay. I like being here a little more than the Venetian as it's smaller and quieter.

resort fee on points?
Hi, can anybody with a recent stay confirm that there are no resort fees on (sole) points bookings? The screen before the confirmation states only points, nothing else. But the confirmation mentions a resort fee.
I called IHG customer service and they said no, but I'm not sure how much weight that holds.

Had a weird experience booking by free nights using the IHG Chase free nights. When I was planning the trip a few days I saw that they had nights available for both nights I wanted to stay (March 13-14). I didn't book the rooms since I wanted to make sure I could get the plane tickets and rental car at a decent price. When I was able to find a good airfare tonight, I went back to the site to reserve the rooms and couldn't even get The Venetian or Palazzo to show up in the search results. I tried many times using both IHG site and the Venetian site. When I switched to the Firefox browser, I was using Chrome, both Venetian and Palazzo showed up and I was able to book my two free nights. Should I be worried that there may something funky or wrong with my reservation? I did print out the confirmation email but I'm worried I somehow tricked it or did something weird that allowed it give me the room. There was a message saying if I wanted to use 2 free nights that I would have to book them separately, but I was able to do it with one reservation so that's weird too.

IHG have responded to say that Intercontinental Alliance resorts do not award points for incidental or food and beverage spend. They quoted this page: https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/cu...er-tc/2nd-page
This is disappointing...

Just got back from another stay here. A friend booked the stay as an IHG gold. We attempted to check-in very early, without much expectation, and were given the room without issue. As well as a 2 pm checkout too. Room and resort was fantastic as always. When comparing the room fee to some of the other resorts we looked at, the "free stuff" was negligible.

1) im wondering about the issues related EQN and pts for incidental spend (for both IHG and Grazie) when booking direct with IHG vs venetian vs OTA vs TA (eg FHR etc)
- ive heard many mixed YMMV issues - eg booking direct with IHG (paid night) only gives EQN and flat 2k pts vs FHR gives you nothing via "non-qualifying stay" (altho u get FHR benefits)
- ive also heard when booking direct with IHG/FHR, you get nothing on the grazie side (eg tier credits)
- IC vegas is rarely included in IHG promos except for the most recent 4x promo. strangely enough, DPs show IC vegas counts.
2) can anyone confirm IC vegas still will not count for RA AMB? which would only prove how "fake" this IC is.
3) i recently confirmed you can NOT access past, current, future reservations via online account. how pathetic is this? having no app is annoying, but no online access functionality is not acceptable. also, i get no confirmation email. IC vegas still operating like 1999.

hey guys. anyone here with various IC vegas experience / details related to using multiple channels for booking and stacking various promos? one thing frustrating about IC vegas is the opt out nature of the property similar to ritz / marriott. and paid vs award night seems to matter as well.

yea. thats why i had the same questions. ive been testing. so far, tons of issues. it matters how you book. u book venetian direct, u get only venetian credits. book IHG, you get flat 2k pts with some YMMV bonuses + EQN if you fight for it. FHR has issues too since its not IHG direct. basically, its a headache.

last stayed here I’m 2015, looks like no refurb!

The rooms have been refurbed since 2015, we stayed in 2017 and they were in the process of refurbishing then
