Is your passport issued in India, or outside? Just curious. It might be smoother if it’s issued in India

thanks Keyser, I went a few pages back but missed page 1 ;-)

my experience in delhi at the RPO was much smoother than yours, 9am appointment counter A/B/C and out by 10am.

My passport was issued in New York so I took my aadhar card for verification and that worked.

The PCC is another story, I went to my local police station and they sent me to the sub divisional station where I went to some room marked special branch or something. They told me to wait 3 days and come back with as many docs as I have Voter ID, PAN card, Aadhar card and Utility bill. I’ll update this when I hear back.

heres keysers experience from earlier: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...1&postcount=21

Bangalore police were insisting that Aadhar should be issued at least 1 year ago, so it wasn’t so golden for me. I was thinking of filing a grievance with Bangalore police for being so clueless, but I’m holding off till they finish their part of the background check.

Mine was issued in 2014, but I did a name change this year, and the date of issue on Aadhar card always changes based on when you downloaded it. It felt like the police were making up rules as they went along.
I did end up filing a grievance with the passport office about how clueless the police were about GEP verification. I requested them to advise Bangalore police properly on GEP verification.

Just a quick update, looks like I’m screwed because Delhi Police apparently needs 3 business days to have the forms delivered by postal mail before they can initiate verification and I’m leaving at 7a on the morning of the 4th business day. They were extremely rude and unhelpful but that’s to be expected

leaving this is here in case anyone else needs to plan travel from Delhi

I didn’t follow. What forms are you referring to? And who needs to receive those forms?

My experience was the opposite. I had gone to my local police station before PSK appointment and they asked me to come back right after I'm done with PSK with the file number. They can download the forms using the file number. They came home within an hour per my request and completed the paperwork, The checks were exhaustive - they did call one of the references I had mentioned on form and took copies of a lot of documents. His rationale was to make the file so strong that CID does not send it back to him for more info. He then scanned and completed the paperwork and asked me to go to CID office in town(Mumbai) to get PCC right away. While they don't know what GEP is, they were super supportive and friendly. The forms were filled by him in Marathi

I've written to cbp in this regard, I'll probably get a cookie cutter response but hope to get it on their radar that the card has its uses - - you can use the global entry / nexus vehicle lanes while entering Canada, and entering the trusted traveler security lanes at Canadian airports requires one of a few types of cards, such as nexus or global entry. Hope everyone else sends similar messages so they get the idea that sending the card to non US residents would be beneficial.
Global Entry card can be used as a valid ID for domestic flights within US, in case you don’t have your passport or US driver license with you.

My applications status changed back to the old one today. Not sure what's going on here...

"GEP Verification Process has been initiated on your application. Once inputs from all the concerned Government Authorities are received, the Report will be shared with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). No queries would be entertained in relation to your GEP application status at the Passport Offices and PSP Call Centre. You may contact CBP for further updates on the processing of your GEP application."

Typical of our systems. It sucks. My fiance got her GE and Nexus yesterday, it was such a smooth process for a Canadian.

Even my status also changed back like this. Do any of you know why this happens?
- Does this mean that my documents were insufficient for CID and other governmental agencies to complete my verification and they have returned it back to PSK?

Do we have anybody in this group, whose status did change like this and still got it approved, later?
