We are on the top floor. No connecting room, it's a Regency Suite King. According to the map all even number rooms 924 - 946 have balconies.

We had a one night stay about a month ago, using a suite upgrade cert. Check-in was good: we were escorted to the lounge to check in there. This was our first stay in a Hyatt (having been status matched recently) and I was a little surprised not to receive a choice for diamond amenity.

The first suite we were given was ok but nothing great and one the 9th floor, with a balcony. This is a smoking floor and I'm incredibly sensitive to smoke so we asked to move. Around 10 minutes later a porter came with the key and escorted us to a much nicer larger suite on a lower floor. I guess this was a Regency Exec Suite. In the room was half a bottle of red wine, some pastries and some plums with a card for a different guest - the lounge told us to have them anyway!

I had contacted the hotel in advance to say that it was my OH's birthday and also that we are both allergic to dairy produce. In the lounge, we had special canapes sent up (dark chocolate dipped strawberries, spring rolls, chicken on skewers). This was a really nice touch and meant we didn't need to buy dinner.

Later that evening (around 9-10pm) there was a knock on the door and a bottle of champagne and some chocolates were delivered with a Happy Birthday message. Again, this was lovely of the hotel and we were altogother very pleased by the customer service of the hotel.

We prefer the style of the IC Park Lane. However, the suite we had at the Hyatt retails for under half the price of our favourite at the IC and we thought the Hyatt represented great value for the location and size of suite.

We will be returning for a 2 night stay next month again using a suite upgrade certificate. The hotel have agreed to put us in a non-smoking suite and do dairy free canapes again so we are happy!

The choice of diamond amenity only applied to North America. Worldwide it's food and beverage.

As a Diamond, had a recent stay here (actually 3 rooms for family members). While we did not get upgraded to a room with a balcony, all our rooms were key card allowed access to the Regency lounge for breakfast which was terrific. Very nice spread for breakfast.^

I'm assuming we were staying in basic rooms, I stayed on the 2nd floor and allowed my other family members to take a 5th & 6th floor rooms. All our rooms faced Portman Square. Even with being on the 2nd floor, street noise was barely able to be heard.^

We loved the location being so close to the Marble Arch tube stop as well as Hyde Park for our morning walks.

Nope, the basic rooms face the ugly center courtyard I believe. That's what I always seem to get when I stay there...........

Menu looks great. Anyone try Roussillon to The Square? Ill be at the Churchill next week (still debating on a night at the Andaz) if I can get out of Cali.

If you want a good Italian restaurant, you could do a lot worse than Locanda Locatelli, attached to the hotel. Quite good! Ideally, call the concierge in advance of arrival for a booking, but if it's an impulse thing you still likely will have a chance only if you go through the concierge.

Very much agreed. Quite expensive - especially the wine - but a worthwhile experience. And, you never know who might show up.

I'm at the property right now (it's 4:45am London time...oh jetlag)
First impressions were mixed but generally on the good side.

First floor reception was not very welcoming and did not smile at all during the whole process.
The lady who brought me up to the club lounge was very chatty and we had a nice chat on the way up.
Club lounge checkin staff seemed a bit serious but loosened up after a while.
Lounge breakfast offering was alright, though coming from PH Paris (where I stayed last night) the quality is obvious a couple notches below.

Got a non-club view king room on the 4th floor.
Very bright and everything looks quite new.
Bathroom is a bit small but adequate.
Bath amenities are not so great though.
Might call up in the morning and ask for substitutes (love Molton Brown products).

Ordered room service.
Food arrived in 20 minutes but the server was not quite friendly.
Caesar salad just ok, steak sandwich pretty good.
Prices were fair.

The fire alarm went off at around 12:15am (false alarm, resolved in <20mins).
My first such experience at any hotel, pretty interesting
