I love Hyatt otherwise - they really treat me so nicely.
Me too. What's the deal with their website? I can hardly believe that a major international company has this many outages and this much downtime on their website. With all of the companies that provide backup and continuity of business you would think this sort offing would be a thing of the past for a major hotel chain....

For over about 2 hours now the Hyatt website has been down... Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, Kimpton, Joie de vivre, trump, Thompson Hotels, Morgans Hotels Group ... all up and running... as usual.

I guess Hyatt only wants people who really really want to stay at a Hyatt to make a reservation, as you have to keep on trying and trying until the website finally works. I also received a check in notice today for a hotel stay I canceled 4 weeks ago.

annoying pop-ups

Recently, every time I click on the room photos (on the rooms and rates tab) the pictures get sent to the background and I get a really annoying pop-up from roomkey.com offering me rates at other area hotels. Hate it, hate it, hate it.
using firefox.

It's not Hyatt sending you that pop up. Check to see if some other program you installed also installed a program called InfoAtoms and you should have issues with other websites as well sending you popups.

It is from Hyatt. Roomkey participant are likely required to divert certain percentage of their traffic to this website.

I really hate Hyatt IT. My fiancee and I each had two award nights in our HGP accounts from the Chase Hyatt credit card. I booked two nights at the GH Tokyo using my award nights. I then tried to book the next two nights using her award nights, but received a message saying there was no availability. I knew there was availability, so I thought that was odd. Not wanting to lose the room, I went back to my account and booked the next two nights using points as a backup plan. So in my account I had two reservations: nights 1 & 2 on award nights, nights 3 & 4 on points.

I then called HGP to ask why I couldn't book using fiancee's award nights, and CSR told me it's because those can only be booked over the phone. I said that was odd, since I had just booked online using my award nights. She said that was indeed odd. Anyway, she went ahead and booked nights 3 & 4 using fiancee's award nights, and then canceled the points award for nights 3 & 4 in my account. Thus, I thought we had nights 1 & 2 on my award nights and nights 3 & 4 on fiancee's award nights.

Fast forward to today, I log in to my account and see the points have not returned to my account. I call HGP, and she says that's because nights 1 & 2 are booked on points from my account. I said no, I booked nights 1 & 2 on award nights and nights 3 & 4, which were cancelled, on points. She says that's incorrect, and that I booked all 4 nights on points, not award nights. At this point, I want to tear my hair out. It would have been impossible for me to book all 4 nights on points as she says, because at no point did I have enough points for a 4 night stay. The 2 night stay almost wiped out my account as it is. Anyway, she transferred me to a supervisor. He said he would get in touch with the hotel and find out what they can do, but it's entirely up to the hotel and they might not be able to do anything.

Any ideas on what could have happened, and what my recourse could be if they insist on keeping the points instead of award nights?

I am now facing problems as well...

I should have 6 upcoming reservations with them but only see 4. I wrote to GP about it and they keep telling me my reservations are alright, that they do have my GP number attached to them. But somehow I don't see them.

Only way to see them is by using the retrieve my reservations option. They show up and it says that they don't have my GP number attached to them. Then I click "Add to all". Get to the confirmation page saying that my number has now been appended... but still can't see them under my account...

I just hope I won't forget about them at one point and double book (yes I am a bit light headed sometimes )...

Actually I just checked and they do show up on my PassBook.... ^
But not on the Hyatt app...

Bill from Hyatt E-Commerce here. This should not happen. I'll send you a private note so we can look into this situation. Sorry you're having trouble with the app, but glad they are showing up in passbook.

Hi Bill, any news regarding this issue? I am having an upcoming stay at the GH Jakarta this weekend and I still can't see it under my account but the reservation still exists if I pull it up with the confirmation number.

Another "issue" is that I received the usual reminder email from my next stay at the GH Seoul next week but never received the one from GH Jakarta. Which is a bit disturbing as it would lead me to think that my reservation is no longer existing...
