Investortiger, if you'd like to cancel your reservation, you could do so by clicking the link on the top left which says something like "cancel this reservation", and then you will be asked if you'd like to cancel the reservation, clixk yes and then let the page load. When it's done loading you will see your cancellation number, and your points will be refunded to your account immediately. To change a reservation you will need to make another reservation, then cancel your existing reservation.

upintheair, if you're trying to get to the airport in the early hours then you will probably not find taxis waiting outside the hotel. I don't think so you will be offered the rm 80 too because of the early time of your departure.

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know how to get from LCCT to KLIA Express train to KL Sentral station?

That's easy enough. From LCCT you have basically a few options:

1. You can go from LCCT to KL sentral straight by bus. This costs only Rm 8.50 one way. The journey takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. You can check out this website here for all the info you need.

http://skybus.com.my/

2. From LCCT take a bus to KLIA (20 minutes bus ride). From there take the KLIA express to KL sentral (30 minutes). It will probably take you about 15 minutes to get to the station in KLIA though... so the time saving factor is minimal.

3. LCCT bus to Salak Tinggi station and from there to KL sentral. Whole journey takes a little more than 1 hour. Information here http://www.kliaekspres.com/travel-wi...ansit-to-lcct/

Fare for adult is rm 12.50 one way and rm 22 return. Still very cheap.

So, InvestorTiger, if I were you I would choose option 1 because less transfer means a less stressful trip.

Thanks for your information. I appreciate your kind suggestions. Is taking a taxi straight from LCCT to DT another option? Are there official taxi counters near the arrival hall of LCCT where I can take a cab? I have heard negative things about some taxi drivers in KL so I am unsure if this is a better option? I am a little worried about traffic congestion though in the late afternoon. Are premier taxis actually better than normal taxis? I don't mind paying 100RM if the ride is comfortable. http://www.lcct.com.my/transportatio...q2edk2dj5cq9o5

I think you meant lcct. Yeah it's certainly an option. Prebook your taxi at the arrival hall to prevent a rio off which is so common in Malaysia. Late afternoon as in what time? If you leave lcct before 3.30pm, you shouldn't face much traffic congestion. After 4pm, then best of luck buddy! Would still take 1 hour plus a few minutes without any traffic congestion. Fare should not be more than rm 100. Normal taxi vs premier?premier taxis are just ok. No comment on this one.

Yes you are right.. LCCT not KLCC... Sorry about that

I would be arriving at 1550 on a saturday.. Worried about being stuck in traffic.. Might help that it is not on a weekday I guess.. Ya I am familiar with the coupon taxi thing, have experienced it in Penang and there were no problems encountered. I basically pay an agreed fare and there is no more charge right? Probaby will just take a cab.

Oh, if it's not a weekday, I wouldn't worry too much! Have a nice trip! I am not entirely sure how it works in LCCT, but in KLIA I was given a piece of paper which I handed over to the cabbie.

No worries. Traffic is good on Saturday. As for taxi, you need to buy coupon after custom checkpoint (For International arriving flight). You can choose either budget or executives or van. Budget use small car(Red) and executives use bigger car(Black). Its quite different with KLIA which they have 3 options limo which is Budget, Premier and Luxury. Once you paid the coupon, there will be a manager looking at your ticket and will show you the car as they lined up. As for the fees, its fixed price from the counter.

Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot

Ya thats what I did in Penang as well, buying a coupon and handling it over to the cab driver. These cabs are more regulated than the normal cabs in KL as they are subject to some regulations.

Did the hotel email you to let you know you were upgraded to the executive floor or did the system reflect that before you checked in? Currently shows no availability for executive rooms on the dates that I booked, might have sold out. The rooms on weekends are more expensive than the ones at Hilton KL, which is a cat 4 property. Might have a good level of occupancy on weekends, being near to so many attractions.

Hi there investortiger. To answer your question, no, you won't get any email about room upgrades unless you email the hotel first asking for an upgrade. You can call the hotel up, and ask for an upgrade. Or, you can check youe reservation online, the day before your check in date, and see if your room type has been upgraded. Some hotels upgrade elite members during check in, but most hiltons actually assign room upgrades at night for next day arrivals.

I actually like hilton kl more. Because as a diamond I usually get upgraded to a suite. the dtkl has a good location. It's a ten minute walk to klcc, which is definitely doable. Executive rooms don't usually get sold out. I hope you will get upgraded to at least an exec room because the lounge offers so much. A great view of the klcc from the balcony, great staff and service, good variety of offering, predinner that can easily substitute for dinner, etc etc.

ask for lounge access even if exec room upgrade is not available. I think you should checj in at the lounge because I find the staff there more willing to help. The lounge is on 33rd floor.

hope you will have an enjoyable stay in dtkl.

Have fun! ^

I know the email of the GM. I have written to him directly and copied to reservations. I am just a lowly Gold so not sure if he will respond.

I saw some reviews on TA regarding the renovation of Hilton KL recently so I decided to visit after the renovations are fully completed. For Hilton KL, you can utilise the PR corporate discount rate. Do you use that rate for bookings? Do they do checking of any sort? The prices are really low after discount.

I hope the GM replies you. It always helps to ask.

The renovation is just for the reception area and the Sudu restaurant if I remember correctly. It's been a few months since I stayed at the Hilton KL. The restaurant where they usually served breakfast has been closed for months... last I heard it's still closed for renovation. They relocated the breakfast area to an open space in the hotel lobby.

Even though it's been opened for some years now, the hotel doesn't look old in my opinion - still one of the best Hilton I've ever stayed at.

For my birthday this year, in January, they upgraded my room to a wonderful suite with an open terrace and outdoor jacuzzi/whirlpool... being a diamond + regular + friend of a friend of a senior manager + having talked to the owner of the hotel, really helped me get a great upgrade. The suite cost RM 2000 but I only paid RM 300 (tax inclusive) - the FD agent who checked me in, was SERIOUSLY confused. They even sent a good bottle of wine and some fruits served on a plate (and not to forget the cake) to my room later in the day.

Guess I deviated too much in a DTKL thread though. LOL!

To answer your question, the PR13CB discount code has been known as a generic discount code. Used it many dozen of times, zero question asked, zero problem met. Used the code extensively IN EUROPE, UAE, AUSTRALIA, and ASIA. All stay credits + points + quarterly bonus points posted on my account normally WITHOUT any issue.

If you're looking for a code for Doubletree KL, you can also use this one PGLL01. The little league rate gets you a nice 15 percent discount. Of course, the best option is to redeem your hard earned hhonors points at the doubletree KL.

Thanks for your advice. For this particular hotel, it seems better to redeem reward stays rather than pay for the stay. At 4000 points and 30 dollars, it is a great deal.

The GM has replied to my email and told me to check in at the executive lounge. How do I get to the lounge without the keycard? It does seem to me that they are genuinely quite busy and the rates on peak periods can be higher than Hilton KL rates.

We are expecting to quite full over the dates you are planning to be in KL

However we certainly give priority to our HHonors members, and we try to meet their requests. We have been quite successful to date, but obviously there are sometimes that we are not able to achieve this.

I would request you understanding and we will ensure the team try as much as possible to prioritize your requests.

I suggest you can check into the Executive Lounge, and the team will look after you.

If you can provide your approximate arrival time, this will help the team to prepare.

Thank you again for your understanding.

Kind Regards

The lounge is staffed at all (open) times by people on the door at the desk; no keycard is required to enter. I seem to recall that the Lounge Floor (top / 34th floor IIRC - it will be indicated inside the lift) was not restricted by keycards in the lifts, so it is OK to go directly up there from arriving at the hotel. If you are in doubt, go to check in downstairs, they will acknowledge you as gold and the porter(s) will escort you up there.
